  • Publication number: 20110162276
Abstract: A method of operating a gasification facility includes channeling a conveying fluid at a first temperature through at least one first steam heating device to increase the temperature of the conveying fluid to a second predetermined temperature. The method also includes channeling the conveying fluid at the second predetermined temperature through a second steam heating device to increase the temperature of the conveying fluid to a third predetermined temperature. The method further includes channeling the conveying fluid at the third predetermined temperature to a solids conveyance system. Solids become entrained within the conveying fluid. The method also includes transporting at least a portion of the solids to a gasification system.

  • Publication number: 20110107735
Abstract: The present application provides an integrated gasification combined cycle system. The integrated gasification combined cycle system may include a gas turbine engine, a syngas system for producing a syngas for the gas turbine engine and having a compressor therein, and a second gas engine in communication with the syngas system. The second gas engine dives the compressor via the syngas.

  • Publication number: 20110067302
Abstract: A system and method is provided for capturing a carbonous gas and using the captured carbonous gas for cooling purposes. For example, a system may include a carbon capture system configured to collect a carbonous gas from a syngas, and a cooling system having the carbonous gas in a coolant circuit.

  • Publication number: 20110033356
Abstract: A method for treating a stream comprising an emission gas includes passing portions of the stream comprising the emission gas to two or more reactor units arranged in parallel while subjecting fluid flowing through at least one of the reactor units to pressure control; identifying when at least one of the reactor units trips or is taken out of service; and when at least one of the reactor units trips or is taken out of service, adjusting a flow path of said portion of the stream originally passing to the out-of-service reactor unit such that said portion passes to an absorber for removing the emission gas via a compressor, and subjecting the fluid flowing through all of the in-service reactor units to flow rate control.

  • Publication number: 20100043290
Abstract: A method of assembling a gasification reactor includes extending at least one reactant injection member into the gasification reactor. The method also includes extending at least one fluid injection conduit including a plurality of fluid injection passages defined therein into the gasification reactor. At least a portion of the at least one fluid injection conduit circumscribes at least a portion of the at least one reactant injection member.
