  • Patent number: 11961055
Abstract: Disclose herein are systems and methods for enabling a payer with an account at a financial institution (e.g., a bank) to send a payment to a payee by submitting, via a financial application of the financial institution, the payee's identifier, where the funds associated with the payment are transferred from a financial account associated with a third-party, remote computer system of a payment service (“PSS”), directly to the payee substantially instantaneously upon the payer's request. The payment request is processed based on communications between a computer system of the financial institution (“financial institution system”), a mobile financial application installed on the payer's mobile device, and the PSS. The PSS identifies the payee's financial account and executes, or triggers execution of, the transfer of funds. The PSS further requests a reimbursement of the payment from the payer's financial account to the financial account associated with the PSS.

  • Patent number: 10007953
Abstract: In some examples, a service provider may provide a payroll service and a payment processing service to businesses. For instance, with authorization from the employer, the service provider may withhold a percentage of funds received as sales revenue through the payment service. For example, the service provider may withhold a percentage of sales revenue each day to be used to pay at least a portion of the payroll payments paid to employees of the employer. Alternatively, the service provider may determine an amount of payroll payments currently due to be paid on a given day, and may deduct at least a portion of this amount from the sales revenue of the employer for that day. As another alternative, the service provider may make payroll payments in advance, and may withhold a percentage of the employer's daily sales revenue until the cash advance is paid back.

  • Patent number: 9990613
Abstract: Introduced here is a technology that enables a bill payer, who is an account holder at a financial institution (e.g., a bank), to send a bill payment to a bill payee by submitting, via a financial application of the financial institution, the bill payee's identifier and a bill payment amount, where funds for the bill payment amount are transferred directly to the bill payee substantially instantaneously upon the bill payer's request. The technology involves communication between a computer system of a financial institution (“financial institution system”), a mobile financial application installed on a bill payer's mobile device, and a third-party, remote computer system of a payment service (“PSS”). Upon receiving the identifier and amount from the financial institution system, the PSS identifies payment card information of the bill payer and the bill payee, and executes, or triggers execution of, the transfer of funds for the bill payment.
