Abstract: Techniques for implementing an epilation device are described, including a body provided with two pairs of arms. Two lengths of thread extend from one pair of arms to the other pair, and are intertwined to form an axial twist. The device is configured such that the first pair of arm closes when the second pair of arms opens, and vice versa. This movement causes the axial twist to travel between the two pairs of arms; any hair caught in the axial twist is epilated. By making one pair of arms longer than the other pair, the tension of the axial twist is varied during its travel, thus increasing the friction between the two lengths of thread forming the axial twist, and the effectiveness of the device. One or more notches can be cut in one or more arms to reduce the tension of the axial twist.
