  • Publication number: 20130345592
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for determining a body composition parameter by applying a bioimpedance measurement on a subject, the overall body size and an impedance value of the body of the subject entering into the calculation of the body composition parameter. It is provided that when calculating the body composition parameter a term is additionally entered which constitutes a product of a previously determined coefficient and of a ratio of measured impedance values of different body segments of the subject. During the calculation of the ratio of impedance values of different body segments the ratio of the real parts of the impedances preferably takes the form of x R ? ? Trunk / Extremities = R Trunk ( R Right ? ? arm + R Left ? ? arm + R Right ? ? leg + R Left ? ? leg ) / 4 .

  • Publication number: 20130131462
Abstract: The device is provided with at least one analysis apparatus for analyzing at least one biological parameter of a living being. The analysis apparatus has at least one data input for recording measured data of at least one sensor. The sensor measures at least one biological parameter of the living being. The analysis apparatus also has at least one output apparatus for an analysis result. The analysis apparatus has a control unit and a program memory. The program memory stores a plurality of program modules, which can be activated by the control unit according to an externally specifiable control instruction alternatively or in partial or complete combination with each other in such a way that the activated program modules provide the data for the selected analysis result.
