  • Publication number: 20100022425
Abstract: The invention relates an additive composition for use as a metal working fluid and a process for protection of metals, particularly zinc or aluminum, against corrosion or oxidative degradation. The composition comprises an additive mixture of an alkenyl succinic half ester, a substituted imidazoline compound and amine phosphate partial ester in a functional fluid.

  • Patent number: 6716297
Abstract: The invention relates to methods and apparatuses for separating components adhesively bonded to one another wherein transmitters for mechanical vibrations, in particular for ultrasound, and/or for electromagnetic radiation, in particular laser light, are placed in the region of an adhesive join between the components. An adhesive bond in the adhesive join is acted upon by the vibrations or radiation, and the adhesive and optionally one of the components joined therewith are excited, as a result of which the adhesive effect of the adhesive bond is at least reduced. Alternatively or in addition thereto, transmitters can also be permanently placed in the region of the adhesive join at the time the components are adhesively bonded.

  • Patent number: 6020023
Abstract: A process and apparatus for repairing small paint defects in powder paint coats. In the process, the paint defect is hollowed out, a filler body, which is adapted to the recess with respect to shape and/or volume, is placed in the recess, the filler body is connected with the powder paint coat surrounding the recess and hardened. In order to improve the quality of this repair, after inserting the filler body, pressure is exercised on the filler body at least at the start of the connecting and/or at least at the start of the hardening.

  • Patent number: 5997941
Abstract: A process for repairing relatively small paint faults in powder coating layers, in which, in the region of the faulty point, a cutout is introduced into the powder coating layer with precisely defined dimensions with respect to its area and also with respect to its depth. A filler made of powder coating and/or a pre-product of the powder coating is introduced into the cutout. The filler is dimensioned to correspond to the volume of the cutout, in particular corresponding to the dimensions of the cutout, and is coherent. The filler introduced is joined, in particular bonded, to the powder coating layer arranged outside the cutout.

  • Patent number: 5906720
Abstract: A process for preparing a phosphor layer of a cathode ray tube. To prepare a phosphor layer located on the display screen rear side of the cathode ray tube, the display screen rear side is first coated with an electrically conductive electrode layer consisting of electrically conductive polymers; a solution containing the phosphors or their precursors as well as a solution containing an electrolyte are deposited on the electrode layer; an electric field is applied between the electrode layer and the solution; and the phosphors are electrophoretically deposited on the electrode layer to form the phosphor layer. Since polymers with an evaporation temperature below the destruction temperature of the phosphors are selected, the electrode layer can subsequently be removed by evaporating the polymers.

  • Patent number: 5830580
Abstract: The present invention relates to a painted sheet metal part, such as a car body, with a polyacid layer between the coat of paint and the surface of the sheet metal part and to a method for applying such a coating on the part before painting. Initially, the part is cleaned and de-greased, and subsequently the polyacid layer is deposited and stabilized. In order to be able to apply this layer without losing wet adhesion qualities of the coat of paint and the anti-corrosive effect of coating layer, while presenting fewer ecological disadvantages or harmful consequences, polyacids, which comprise homopolymers or copolymers of carboxylic acids containing double bonds or of functional esters of carboxylic esters, or copolymers of carboxylic acids with vinyl compounds, are used pursuant to the present invention as the protective bonding layer. The polyacids used are further combined with polymers having a glass transition temperature above 100.degree. C.
