  • Patent number: 5046747
Abstract: A board type recreational and sporting device for use in riding down an inclined surface includes an elongated platform for supporting a rider in a generally upright position. The platform has a front portion, a central portion and a rear portion. A front wheel is mounted on the front portion of the platform and pair of back wheels are mounted on the central portion of the platform. The rear wheels are mounted on the platform through a pair of leaf springs which are constructed and oriented on the platform so as to enable steering of the board by changing the position of one of the feet of the rider on the platform and the distribution of the weight of the rider on the platform. A brake plate is fixedly mounted on the back portion of the platform for use in slowing down the device when necessary as it traverses the surface and a rope is attached to the front portion of the platform for to assist providing balance, turning and slowing down of the device.

  • Patent number: 4630456
Abstract: A casket lock for a gas utility valve having inlet and outlet conduits includes a pair of mating casket sections releasably connected together along a hinge about which the sections are movable between open and closed positions. In the closed position the casket sections cooperate to define a casket containing the valve and the conduit connections thereto. The casket sections are releasably retained in closed position by a fastener contained within the casket. A tubular lock secured in locked position to the casket prevents access to the fastener.

  • Patent number: 4609217
Abstract: A tamper indicating cover for a nut securing a gas supply line pipe to a gas meter is disclosed. The cover includes a pair of "C" shaped mating cavity sections which are made of plastic and which are shaped and sized to fit around the top, sides and bottom of the nut and a metal hinge clip which is adapted to be permanently snap-locked into the lower end of each cavity section. The upper end of one cavity section is secured to the upper end of the other cavity section either by a metal clip which is adapted to be snap-locked into each end, if permanent coupling is desired, or a wire seal which is inserted through an opening formed at each end, if non-permanent coupling is desired.

  • Patent number: 4483164
Abstract: A high security lock and a high security key for locking and unlocking said lock. The lock has a resilient O-ring seated in the bore of a hollow plunger and a retainer sleeve fixed in the bore of the hollow plunger and bearing against the rear surface of the O-ring. A center pin with an enlarged forward head extends rearwardly through the bore of the plunger, the O-ring gripping the periphery of the center pin and yieldably resisting center pin reciprocal movement within the plunger bore. The key has elongated outer expanding fingers and an inner coaxially arranged center pin. When the key is fully inserted into the lock and the key handle is operated, the expanding fingers are initially radially expanded to grip the inner surface of the lock plunger bore, and are then longitudinally retracted to draw the plunger rearwardly. Simultaneously, the key center pin is prevented from retracting and holds the lock center pin stationary permitting the lock to unlock.

  • Patent number: 4471982
Abstract: A tamper indicating cover for use on a nut securing a gas supply line pipe to a gas meter is disclosed. The cover is adapted to fit around the nut so that the nut cannot be accessed (for removal) and once it has been placed around the nut and snapped shut cannot be removed without being broken. In one embodiment of the invention the cover is made up of a pair of plastic "C" shaped mating cavity sections sized to fit around the top, sides and bottom of the nut, a hinge section which pivotally connects the lower end of each cavity section together and which is integrally formed with the two cavity sections and a metal clip which is adapted to be snap-locked into an internal slot formed in the upper end of one cavity section and then caused to snap-lock into a corresponding internal slot formed in the upper end of the other cavity section when the two upper ends are brought into engagement with each other. The edges of the lower end of each cavity section are bevelled at a 45.degree.

  • Patent number: 4413490
Abstract: A front entry meter locking ring assembly for locking electric meters. A circular split locking ring has a U-shaped cross-section and two downturned parallel legs of equal length. A take-up fastener engages and draws the downturned legs towards each other. A lock receptacle having a hollow cylindrical portion is affixed to the interior of one downturned leg. A removable protective housing is fitted over the downturned legs and has a front aperture in axial alignment with the front opening of the lock receptacle. An unlocked conventional barrel lock is inserted into the front aperture of the housing. Then the barrel lock is locked. This radially extends the locking balls of the barrel lock into secure engagement with the lock receptacle. An elongated sealing tab is fixed within the housing by the take-up fastener. The sealing tab extends down through a narrow slot in the bottom of the housing where the tab is engaged by a tell-tale seal.

  • Patent number: 4407146
Abstract: A lock assembly for preventing the unauthorized disconnection of a gas line where it is connected to the gas meter. The lock assembly has telescoping male and female shrouds, a bolt type lock and an end cap inserted transversely through the side walls of the telescoped shrouds to lock the two shrouds together to securely enclose the gas line threaded connection, and two turned back ears on the male shroud closed end which cover the female shroud open end side edges to prevent the female shroud and the male shroud from being pried apart by a pair of screwdrivers or the like.

  • Patent number: 4391110
Abstract: A barrel lock sleeve for snap-mounting in a keyway aperture of a door for use in lockably blocking the keyway for security purposes. The sleeve is fixed in the door aperture by the insertion and locking of a conventional barrel lock within the sleeve. The sleeve includes means for permitting the outside diameter of a forward portion of the sleeve to be resiliently compressed so that the sleeve can be snapped into the door aperture.

  • Patent number: 4289000
Abstract: A conventional tubular lock is made pick-resistant by the inclusion of a specially designed washer. The washer, which has a non-circular opening, is provided in the lock interior. The washer is preferably located between the helical compression spring and the rear face of the slidable plunger. The opening in the washer permits the insertion of a specially shaped expandable key, but does not permit the insertion of an old style expandable key, or a nail or other similarly round picking tool which has a sufficiently large diameter to wedge in the rear bore of the plunger. Therefore, the specially designed washer permits the lock to be opened only by an authorized key, but not by a nail or an unauthorized key.

  • Patent number: 4256335
Abstract: This device is an adapter for joining non-threadable flexible tubing to other piping in both fluid-tight and mechanically positive relation. It has serrated chuck jaws encircling the tubing which grip and depress the wall of the tubing into a peripheral hollow in a supporting sleeve within the end of the tubing, when relative rotation is effected between the body of the adapter and a bushing threaded thereinto and surrounding the tubing. A gasket is pressed into sealing relation with the tubing and the adapter.

  • Patent number: 4058992
Abstract: The present is an improved form of barrel type lock in which positive contracting mechanical gripping engagement between the key and the spring-biased locking plunger of the lock replaces the expanding frictional type of engagement hitherto used. This change both greatly increases the power of the key to operate weathered or otherwise recalcitrant locks and also provides for different series of locks of the same standard construction which will be operable exclusively by their own particular key.
