Patent number: 10819876Abstract: Technologies for video-based document scanning are disclosed. The video scanning system may divide a video into segments. A segment has frames with a common feature. For a segment, the video scanning system is configured to rank the frames in the segment, e.g., based on motion characteristics, zoom characteristics, aesthetics characteristics, quality characteristics, etc., of the frames. Accordingly, the system can generate a scan from a selected frame in a segment, e.g., based on the rank of the selected frame in the segment.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 2018Date of Patent: October 27, 2020Assignee: ADOBE INC.Inventors: Ankit Pangasa, Abhishek Shah

Patent number: 10699381Abstract: Certain embodiments involve a model for enhancing text in electronic content. For example, a system obtains electronic content comprising input text and converts the electronic content into a grayscale image. The system also converts the grayscale image into a binary image using a grid-based grayscale-conversion filter, which can include: generating a grid of pixels on the grayscale image; determining a plurality of grid-pixel threshold values at intersection points in the grid of pixels; determining a plurality of estimated pixel threshold values based on the plurality of grid-pixel threshold values; and converting the grayscale image into the binary image using the plurality of grid-pixel threshold values and the plurality of estimated pixel threshold values. The system also generates an interpolated image based on the electronic content and the binary image. The interpolated image includes output text that is darker than the input text. The system can then output the interpolated image.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2018Date of Patent: June 30, 2020Assignee: Adobe Inc.Inventors: Ram Bhushan Agrawal, Ankit Pangasa, Abhishek Shah

Patent number: 10437464Abstract: In some aspects, a touch signal corresponding to contact of the user device touchscreen by a user of a user device is received from a touchscreen sensor of the user device. A location of the user's contact and a document object, which is included within a document displayed on the touchscreen at the location of the user's contact, are determined. An object type corresponding to the document object is determined, and a set of document objects, which are also included in the document, having object types matching the determined object type are identified. A filtered user interface is generated that includes the set of document objects. The set of document objects is extracted from a larger set of document objects. The larger set of document objects includes certain objects with object types that do not match the determined object type. These non-matching objects are excluded from the user interface.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2016Date of Patent: October 8, 2019Assignee: Adobe Inc.Inventors: Ankit Pangasa, Akhil Chugh

Patent number: 10388048Abstract: A simplified mechanism for displaying multiple documents on a mobile device is described. In embodiments, a tilt angle of a housing of the mobile device is detected to determine whether the mobile device is tilted. Based on the tilt angle, a transparency setting is automatically modified for a first document of an application that is displayed via a display device of the mobile device is. Then, a second document of the application is caused to be visible via the display device in response to the transparency setting being modified for the first document. In this way, a user can simply tilt the mobile device to switch between documents.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 2016Date of Patent: August 20, 2019Assignee: Adobe Inc.Inventor: Ankit Pangasa

Patent number: 10365780Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for making an electronic document easier to use based on prior interactions with the same or a similar document by other users. An electronic document is presented to one or more users in an interactive environment. Interactions between the users and the document can be recorded as usage data. The usage data may represent one or more operations performed on the electronic document by the users. Based on the usage data, an enhanced user interaction feature associated with the document is configured. The electronic document and the enhanced user interaction feature are then presented to another user in another interactive environment. The enhanced user interaction feature makes using the document easier than it would be if the feature was not present, particularly for users who are unfamiliar with the document.Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 2014Date of Patent: July 30, 2019Assignee: Adobe Inc.Inventors: Yash Kumar Gupta, Lalit Vohra, Abhishek Modi, Aditya Kumar Pandey, Ankit Pangasa, Frederic Thevenet, Kirk B.
