    Abstract: Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable mediums are provided for detecting traffic lights in images based on prompts that automatically limit the search space within the images for the traffic lights. For example, a system may receive image data and prompt data identifying a search space for traffic light detection. Additionally, the system may generate layout data based on the prompt data and generate traffic light data based on the image data and the layout data. Moreover, the system may determine state information for one or more first traffics included in the image data based on the traffic light data. Further, the system may implement one or more operations associated with a navigation and routing system of the autonomous vehicle based on the state information.

Understanding subtypes and attributes of vulnerable road users may help autonomous vehicles better predict behaviors of and react to vulnerable road users. To offer additional understanding capabilities, an additional understanding model is added to the perception and understanding pipeline to improve classification of vulnerable road users and extraction of attributes of the vulnerable road users. The exemplary architectures of the understanding model balance recall and precision performance metrics and computational complexity.

In some aspects, the process can further include operations for modifying a trajectory of the AV based on the set of instructions received from the HCT and based on a determination on whether the set of instructions are intended for the AV.

    Abstract: Environmental tracking systems and methods are disclosed. An environmental tracking system receives sensor data from the one or more sensors, such as camera(s) and Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) sensors. The system uses trained machine learning (ML) model(s) to detect, within the sensor data, representation(s) of at least a portion of a vehicle with a door that is at least partially open. Based on these representation(s), the system generates a boundary for the vehicle that includes the door and is sized based on the door being at least partially open. The system determines a route that avoids the boundary, for example by planning the route around the boundary or by planning to stop before intersecting with the boundary. In some examples, the sensors are sensors coupled to a second vehicle, and the second vehicle traverses the route.
