  • Patent number: 4478474
Abstract: A coupling nut (300) having internal thread (310) adapted to engage external thread (210) on one of a pair of shells (100, 200) for connecting the two shells together into an electrical connector assembly includes an annular groove (350) medial of the thread (310) and a spring member (400) mounted within the groove, spring member (400) comprising an annular band (410) having a plurality of resiliently deflectable cantilever-type spring leafs (440), each spring leaf (440) being arched radially inwardly from band (410) and having a medial portion (444) thereof which is adapted to bias against internal thread (210) advanced across the annular groove of the coupling nut and a free end (442) thereof which is adapted to engage the annular groove to constantly bias medial portion (444) from the groove.

  • Patent number: 4448470
Abstract: A coupling member (30) includes four equiangularly spaced fingers (42) at one end and two deflectable tabs (50) at the other end which cooperate to couple a pair of connectors (10, 20) of the type having medial of their ends a flange (18, 28) one flange (18) being provided with four openings (48) for receiving the fingers therethrough and the other flange being of a smaller diameter than the sleeve inside diameter for receiving the tabs thereover, the coupling member telescoping over the connectors and causing the tabs to deflect over their flange (28) and the fingers to be radially deflected and abut their flange (18).

  • Patent number: 4359255
Abstract: This invention is an electrical connector assembly that prevents unwanted decoupling when this connector assembly is connected to another connector assembly. The first connector assembly is characterized by at least one resiliently deflectable and rearwardly extending projection 31 that mates with a notch 21 in the coupling ring 20 to prevent rotation of the coupling ring when it is connected to the second connector housing. An outer ring 10 is used to unlock the coupling ring and allow rotation when the coupling ring 10 is pushed forward against the coupling ring 20 and a forward projection 11 on the outer ring 10 enters the notch 21 in the coupling ring 20 and forcing the housing projection 31 out of the notch so that when the outer ring 10 is rotated the coupling ring 20 will also rotate.
