Abstract: A system for conversion of energy in a residual gas generated in an industrial process. The system includes a combustion chamber having a fuel inlet configured to receive a flow of residual gas for combustion in the combustion chamber. The combustion chamber further includes an air inlet. The system also includes a Stirling engine configured to convert heat from the combustion chamber into mechanical energy, the Stirling engine having a heat exchanger, wherein at least a portion of the heat exchanger extends into the combustion chamber. The system further includes a residual gas duct arranged for transporting the residual gas at atmospheric or near atmospheric pressure and an air duct arranged for transporting air at atmospheric or near atmospheric pressure.

Stops at their opposite ends are pre-settable to a first position permitting two-surface contact with the food article, or a second position supporting one cooking plate in spaced parallel relationship with respect to the other cooking plate to permit single-surface contact with the food article. At least one of the said cooking plates carries on its outer surface a removable tray communicating with the interior of the cooking appliance for receiving drippings accumulating within the cooking appliance during a cooking operation.

Abstract: A cooking appliance, includes a pair of cooking plates pivotally mounted to various angular positions, including a vertical position. Each plate is formed, centrally of its lower edge in the vertical position of the two plates, with a ribbed formation defining a drain channel for draining from the plates fluids emanating from the food article during the cooking thereof between the plates. A disposable food holder is provided including a pair of panels of heat-resistant sheet material joined to each other to define a compartment for holding the food article during the cooking thereof, the compartment having a small drain opening aligned with the drain channel of the cooking plates for draining fluids emanating from the food article.

Abstract: A cooking appliance includes a base, and lower and upper cooking plates pivotally mounted to the base such as to permit: (a) the upper cooking plate to be pivotted to an open position with respect to the lower cooking plate for introducing and removal of food articles between the cooking surfaces of the two cooking plates; (b) the upper cooking then to be pivotted to a closed position with respect to the lower cooking plate for contacting the food article between the cooking surfaces of the two cooking plates; and (c) both plates to be pivotted to any desired angular position with respect to the base for drawing fluids from the food article while being cooked between the cooking surfaces of the two cooking plates.

Abstract: A food processor appliance includes various types of adaptors for permitting both liquid and solid food ingredients to be separately or concurrently fed into the appliance for processing therein, or for adapting the appliance particularly for processing long, slim food articles, such as carrots, cucumbers, etc. Another described feature is particularly useful for juicer-type appliances, and includes a base for supporting a juice-receiver receptacle, which base includes a retractable tray for catching drippings when the receptacle is not in place.

Abstract: A food processor implement for converting food articles into a stringy nature, includes: a base; a die member mounted on the base and formed with a plurality of die openings; a pusher member mounted on the base in spaced relation to the die member to define a space between the two members for receiving the food article to be processed; and a drive for driving one of the members towards the other after the food article has been received in the space between the two members, to force the food article through the plurality of die openings, and thereby to convert the food article to a stringy nature. In the described preferred embodiment, the die member is fixed to the base, and the pusher member is manually driven towards the die member.
