Abstract: A sanitary article comprises a fluid permeable surface layer and a backsheet. The backsheet is provided with an adhesive in at least one adhesive region arranged on an outwardly oriented side for attachment of the sanitary article to an undergarment on a user-facing side of the undergarment and at least one adhesive-free region arranged on the outwardly oriented side. The surface layer is an air-through-bonded fibrous nonwoven surface layer having a basis weight of from 14 to 30 g/m2 and a density of from 20 to 90 kg/m3. The adhesive-free region extends in the longitudinal direction and the transverse width of the adhesive-free region is from 7% to 40% of total transverse width of the backsheet, as measured at a widest transverse width of the backsheet in the rear portion.

The absorption body includes, in its thickness direction, a liquid-receiving, flexible foam layer and a liquid-absorbent fibrous layer. The liquid-receiving flexible foam layer has a total surface in the plane extension of the product that at least covers the entire surface of the liquid-absorbent, fibrous layer in the plane extension; and has a bending stiffness that is lower than 0.30 newtons measured according to the modified Circular Bend Procedure method and the liquid-absorbent. The fibrous layer has a bending stiffness that is greater than 2.0 newtons measured according to the modified Circular Bend Procedure method.

Abstract: A stiffening element for an absorbent article designed to, at least during use of the article, provide the article with a predetermined shape that enhances the fit of the article to a wearer's body. The stiffening element has a length in a longitudinal direction and a width in a transverse direction, an upper side intended to face towards a wearer during use of the article, and a lower side intended to face away from the wearer during use of the article. The stiffening element extends in the longitudinal direction over at least a part of both a front portion and a crotch portion. The stiffening element has a width at a transition between the front and crotch portions that is less than the width in the front portion. At least a part of both the upper side and the lower side of the stiffening element exhibit mechanical fastening properties.
