  • Publication number: 20240111450
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for effectively delivering notifications in data storage environments includes, receiving, by a storage controller from a host system, a request to register the host system with the storage controller to receive notifications. These notifications may be associated with a selected type of event detected by the storage controller. In certain embodiments, the selected type of event is a space-related condition associated with a particular storage resource controlled by the storage controller. The computer-implemented method registers the host system with the storage controller. In response to detecting an event of the selected type on the storage controller, the computer-implemented method transmits a notification from the storage controller to the host system to provide notice of the event. A corresponding system and computer program product are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20240104472
Abstract: Systems and methods for assessing mergers and acquisition vulnerabilities in financial markets are disclosed. Embodiments allow advising institutions, such as financial institutions, to recognize times when a hostile party might take advantage of a market climate or other adverse events and attempt a hostile takeover. Embodiments may monitor public markets and may quantify the vulnerability of any given company based on publicly available data to protect the interests of these companies before other parties can exploit these vulnerabilities.

  • Patent number: 11340269
Abstract: A circuit includes a peak detector, a diode, a dynamic clamp circuit, and an offset correction circuit. The peak detector generates a voltage on the peak detector output proportional to a lowest voltage on the peak defector input. The anode of the diode is coupled to the peak detector input. The dynamic clamp circuit is coupled to the peak detector input and is configured to clamp a voltage on the peak detector input responsive to a voltage on the diode's anode being greater than the lowest voltage on the peak detector's input. The offset correction circuit is coupled to the peak detector output and is configured to generate an output signal whose amplitude is offset from an amplitude of the peak detector output.

  • Publication number: 20210166318
Abstract: The invention relates to an engine that generates client profile-based sales decisions. An embodiment of the present invention is directed to providing new insights to strengthen opportunities to provide additional services to clients. The system is directed to developing client profile-based recommendations for trade ideas. For example, the innovative engine may recommend opportunities, such as new trade ideas, to a particular client based upon the client's transaction history, as well as other data and factors. The system may generate an account profile based upon client data and use this profile to score a potential new trade idea.

  • Patent number: 10055548
Abstract: An automatic external defibrillator (AED) is described which is designed for use in a single cardiac emergency. If the AED is in standby for a year without being deployed, the AED is removed from service and replaced with another AED. The AED requires a rescuer only to deploy the electrodes on the torso of the victim; the AED turns itself on, performs rhythm analysis and delivers a shock if needed automatically. The AED thus requires no user controls. Preferably the AED requires no on-site maintenance, as the AED communicates its readiness for use to a remote monitoring site which responds to any problems detected by self-testing. In addition to its electro-resuscitation function, the AED can be used on the chest of the victim to administer CPR compressions.

  • Patent number: 9717925
Abstract: A motion sensitive communicator (40) employs an assembly of a wireless phone (41), a motion sensor (44) and a battery (45). In operation, the motion sensor (44) power couples the battery (45) to the wireless phone (41) responsive to a sensing of any movement of a portable defibrillator (20) supporting the communicator (40). A power coupling of the battery (45) to the wireless phone (41) automatically activates the wireless phone (41) to register to a wireless network, and an activation of the wireless phone (41) enables the wireless phone (41) to execute a call to an emergency service center over the wireless network responsive to a manual actuation of the wireless phone (41). The battery (45) is power decoupled from the wireless phone (41) responsive to an absence of a call from the wireless phone (41) to the emergency service center within a time period initiated by a power coupling of the battery (45) to the wireless phone (41).

  • Publication number: 20140358447
Abstract: Specular, ultrasonic, piezoelectric, detection devices provide real-time, analytical, edge finding in tissues during tumor surgery. Piezoelectric probe sensors at high frequencies (e.g., 10 to 100 MHz) characterize microstructure of cells and tissues. Through-transmission or specular reflection enables nondestructive testing in real time. Peak density analysis in power spectra, second-order spectrum analysis measuring the slope of the Fourier transform of the power spectrum, artificial intelligence pattern recognition, and modeling interpret the results. Model-based data analysis may compare experimental data with a computer simulation. Such comparisons may be based upon pattern classifications, including principal component analysis (PCA). Combining the above detection devices and analytical methods provides speed, accuracy, simplicity, and nondestructive mechanisms that militate for reliable, real-time diagnosis of tumor margins, tissue pathology, cell phenotypes, and molecular subtypes.

  • Publication number: 20140085323
Abstract: A document processing system for accurately and efficiently analyzing documents and methods for making and using same. Each incoming document includes at least one section of textual content and is provided in an electronic form or as a paper-based document that is converted into an electronic form. Since many categories of documents, such as legal and accounting documents, often include one or more common text sections with similar textual content, the document processing system compares the documents to identify and classify the common text sections. The document comparison can be further enhanced by dividing the document into document segments and comparing the document segments; whereas, the conversion of paper-based documents likewise can be improved by comparing the resultant electronic document with a library of standard phrases, sentences, and paragraphs. The document processing system thereby enables an image of the document to be manipulated, as desired, to facilitate its review.
