  • Patent number: 11628602
Abstract: Filter made entirely with natural and biodegradable materials, for the protection of the respiratory tract of patients in the medical-surgical field and process for making it. The filter has a porosity or 80-98% and pore diameters of 100-350 micrometers and the pores have a shape of channels open at the ends, which are parallel to each other. The filter is obtained by preparing an aqueous solution of chitosan and an aqueous solution of gelatin, mixing them, pouring it into a container, keeping the container closed until obtaining a hydrogel and freeze-drying. A cross-linking step takes place by (a) adding a chemical cross-linker to the mixture of the chitosan and gelatine solutions and cross-linking before freeze-drying, or (b) subjecting the freeze-drying product to a thermal dehydration treatment.

  • Publication number: 20230116263
Abstract: Arrangements for using a cognitive convergence engine for resource optimization are provided. Requests for service, such as a loan, an account, or the like, may be received via different communication channels. The requests for service may be aggregated based on type of request and transferred to a cloud environment for evaluation. A request may be evaluated to determine whether it is eligible for bot processing. If so, the request may be transferred to a bot server for processing. If not, the request may be evaluated to identify a best fit resource for processing. Identifying the best fit resource may include scores computed by a plurality of computational instances or virtual machines configured to process the computations. A number of computational instances may be determined based on a volume of requests. The computational instances may then be deployed to determine a best fit resource for the first request.

  • Publication number: 20230115395
Abstract: Scanning a person’s skin allows one to more easily find products that match their skin tone. Cosmetic products are organized or classified using a three-dimensional skin tone color space. A skin scan determines a person’s skin tone in the same skin tone color space. This allows customers to determine which products are appropriate for their skin tone that they can purchase form a retailer. A scanning device is used to scan one or more locations of a person’s skin to obtain a skin tone identifier. For example, two different locations of a person’s face can be scanned, such as the forehead and cheek. There may be an additional third scan. The scan determines a skin tone result in the skin tone color space.

  • Publication number: 20230113298
Abstract: Techniques are provided for autonomous vehicle fleet management for reduced traffic congestion. A request is received for a vehicular ride. The request includes an initial spatiotemporal location and a destination spatiotemporal location. A processor is used to generate a representation of lane segments. Each lane segment is weighted in accordance with a number of other vehicles on the lane segment. A vehicle located within a threshold distance to the initial spatiotemporal location is identified such that the identified vehicle has at least one vacant seat. The processor is used to determine a route for operating the identified vehicle from the initial spatiotemporal location to the destination spatiotemporal location. The route includes one or more lane segments of the lane segments. An aggregate of weights of the one or more lane segments is below a threshold value. The received request and the determined route are transmitted to the identified vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11623526
Abstract: There is disclosed an electrical device including a battery, and a battery management system. The battery management system includes a controller in electrical communication with a pressure sensor to monitor the state of health of the battery. The controller applies a method for determining the state of health that uses a non-electrical (mechanical) signal of force measurements combined with incremental capacity analysis to estimate the capacity fading and other health indicators of the battery with better precision than existing methods. The pressure sensor may provide the force measurement signal to the controller, which may determine which incremental capacity curve based on force to use for the particular battery. The controller then executes a program utilizing the data from the pressure sensor and the stored incremental capacity curves based on force to estimate the capacity fading and signal a user with the state of health percentage.

  • Patent number: 11623866
Abstract: A method encapsulates nanoscale material by producing a suspension of the nanostructure material in a first solvent using a micelle surrounding the nanostructure material. The micelle surrounding the suspended nanostructure material is swollen by adding to and mixing with the suspension an immiscible phase second solvent containing a precursor. The precursor is then reduced by adding a reducing reactant selectively soluble in the first solvent that reacts to the precursor containing reactant selectively solvated in the second solvent to encapsulate the nanostructure material. A metal-nanostructure composite can be provided by collecting and mixing the metal-shell encapsulated nanostructure product produced by the aforementioned method into a metal matrix.
