Abstract: Benzothiophene derivative compounds and corresponding use and composition; the compounds respond to formula (I): where Z is: —CO—, —CH(OR6)—, —C(NOR7)—; R1 is: H, C1-C6 alkyl, halogen, or —OR8; R2 and R3 are: H, alkyl, halogen, —OR8, nitro, cyano, NR9R10; —COR8; CO2R8; —SO2NR9R10; —SO2R8; —SR8; —CONR9R10; R4 and R5 are: H, alkyl, halogen, haloalkyl, —OR8, nitro, NR9R10; —COR8; CO2R8; —SO2NR9R10; —SO2R8; SR8, cyano; —CONR9R10 or R4 and R5 form a benzene ring; R6 is: H, alkyl, CO2R8, —C(O)NR9R10, naphthyl or phenyl; R7 is: H or alkyl; R8 is H, C1-C6 alkyl or phenyl; R9 and R10 are: H, alkyl or phenyl or R9 and R10 form a 5- or 6-membered ring. These compounds are effective for the treatment of anxiety or depression.

Abstract: The agent is the compound 3-{2-[4-(6-fluoro-benzo[d]isoxazol-3-yl)-3,6-dihydro-2H-pyridin-1-yl]-ethy l}-2-methyl-6,7,8,9-tetrahydropyrido [1,2-a]pyrimidin-4-one having the formula (I) ##STR1## and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof; the process is based on the reduction of a selected pyridin salt by means of a metal borohydride; its preferred application is as an antipsychotic agent.

Abstract: Amidines derived from 3-aminoethyl indoles of formula (I) ##STR1## where R.sub.1 is an atom of hydrogen or a lower alkyl or alkenyl group: R.sub.2 is an atom of hydrogen or a lower alkyl or alkenyl , aryl, arylalkyl or cycloalkyl group; R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 may be the same or different and are an atom of hydrogen or a lower straight or branched chain alkyl group; and R.sub.5 is an atom of hydrogen; a straight or branched chain alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl group, which may be substituted with an hydroxy group, alkoxy, alkoxycarbonyl, carboxyl, trifluoromethyl, halogen, carbonyl, cyano; a cyano group, phenyl, aryl, cycloalkyl, heterocycle or arylalkyl, optionally substituted with a hydroxy, alkoxy, halogen, amino, alkoxycarbonyl, carboxyl, trifluoromethyl, carbonyl, cyano, nitro, lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, or may form an optionally substituted heterocycle with R.sub.4 and with the nitrogen atom; and the physiologically acceptable salts thereof.
