Abstract: An absorbent article has a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction, a front portion, a rear portion and a crotch portion located between the rear portion and the front portion. The article includes a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, and an absorbent core enclosed between the topsheet and the backsheet, and a hump arranged substantially in the crotch portion between the topsheet and the backsheet and extending in the longitudinal direction of the article. The hump has an essentially rectangular form with a first and a second longitudinal side edge extending in the longitudinal direction of the article, a front transverse side edge extending in the transverse direction towards the front portion of the article, a back transverse side edge extending in the transverse direction towards the rear portion of the article.
