The method includes determining an imminent communication limitation of communication via a mobile communication system based on an anticipated position of the mobile device on a route which is traveled multiple times by the mobile device. The method calculates an anticipated temporal extent of the imminent communication limitation and adjusts the communication via the mobile communication system based on the anticipated temporal extent of the imminent communication limitation.
