Abstract: A process is provided for recycling a catalyst slurry comprising an organic material and a solid catalyst having a metal component disposed on a support. The process comprises contacting the catalyst slurry with an inorganic acid, reacting the inorganic acid with the metal component to form an aqueous metal salt solution phase, and an organic material phase, and separating the support from at least one of the organic material phase and the aqueous metal salt solution phase.
