Abstract: Selective hydrogenation of a polyunsaturated hydrocarbon feed containing at least 2 carbon atoms per molecule and having an end point of 250° C. or less, by contacting said feed with a catalyst having an active phase of at least one metal from group VIII deposited on a support formed by at least one oxide, said catalyst being prepared using a process involving at least: i) contacting said support with at least one solution containing at least one precursor of metal from group VIII; ii) contacting said support with at least one organic compound formed from at least one cyclic oligosaccharide composed of at least 6?-(1,4)-bonded glucopyranose subunits; iii) calcining to obtain metal from group VIII in oxide form; i) and ii) possibly being carried out separately, in any order, or simultaneously.

Abstract: An active implantable medical device, particularly a rate responsive cardiac pacemaker having reduced power consumption. The device has a first sensor to measure a parameter that is used to control at least one function of the device, particularly a cardiac stimulation frequency, and a first sensing circuit for receiving and processing the output signals delivered by the first sensor. A switch is used to switch in and out of service the first sensing circuit according to the determined activity level of the patient bearing the device. The first sensing circuit determines a state of activity of the first sensor, this state being susceptible to take, according to predetermined criteria, a calculated value that is representative of a state of rest of the patient. The first sensing circuit is then switched according to the determined state of activity of the first sensor being established at the state of rest.

Abstract: During a calibration phase, the representative characteristics of a parameter are determined, a reference value is deduced for determining pacing efficiency, and during a threshold search phase, the value of the capture threshold is determined as a function of pacing efficiency.
