  • Publication number: 20170242676
Abstract: A control system and method enabling comparison of first and second character strings, the control system comprising a first source of information supplying the first string and a second source of information embedded in an aircraft and supplying the second string. A first processing module can model the first character string, each first character string character divided into a given number H×W of standardized elements comprising sign elements and background elements. The first processing module can transform each character into a standardized image. A second processing module can model the second character string, each character divided into H×W standardized elements comprising sign elements and background elements, and can transform each character into a standardized image in which each standardized element is associated with a comparison code. A comparison module can load the first string into the first module and load the second string into the second module for processing.

  • Patent number: 9612819
Abstract: A system and method for automating detection of a change of configuration of an embedded unit and the reloading of the appropriate software configuration into the unit. An automatic reloading system comprises a transmitter associated with the unit to transmit a configuration frame comprising a set of identifiers of the current hardware and/or software configuration of the unit, a detector to capture the configuration frame and to detect a change of hardware and/or software configuration of the unit, and a software loader to automatically reload a set of appropriate software elements into the unit according to the detected change of configuration.

  • Patent number: 9298447
Abstract: The management of software updates of a set of equipment of an aircraft system on the basis of instructions in a service bulletin, accessible in the form of commands. A command directed to at least one instruction in said service bulletin and being directed to the modification of the configuration of an item of equipment of said system is selected and executed. If the result of executing said selected command conforms to an expected result, at least one restore command allowing the reconfiguration of said equipment to its configuration preceding the execution of said command is selected. If the result of executing said selected command does not conform to an expected result, at least one previously generated restore command is executed.

  • Patent number: 9075681
Abstract: The invention in particular has as an object methods and devices for automated loading of software, in a piece of equipment such as an aircraft, comprising the updating of the associated documentation. After having received an indication relating to a modification of a software application, a command making it possible to perform the required updating automatically is transmitted to a piece of equipment comprising this software application. In response, an indication relating to the execution of the command is received and a report of execution of the command is transmitted to the manufacturer in order to allow it to update the documentation of the piece of equipment accordingly.

  • Patent number: 9043650
Abstract: The invention in particular has as an object detecting incompatibility between equipment items of a on-board system. A logic interface associated with one equipment item comprises at least one input while a logic interface associated with another equipment item comprises at least one output. The input and the output are connected. After a minimal data definition level associated with the input and a data definition level associated with the output have been obtained (505), the said minimal data definition level associated with the input is compared (515) with the said data definition level associated with the output. Following this comparison, if the said minimal data definition level associated with the input is lower than the said data definition level associated with the output, an alarm indicating an incompatibility of these two equipment items is generated (545).

  • Publication number: 20130305238
Abstract: A method for updating a software application stored in an equipment item on board an aircraft. The method comprises downloading update files to an on-board dataloader, checking the integrity and authenticity of the new software application version, transmitting this new software application version to the equipment item concerned, storing the new software application version in question into a standby memory zone of said equipment item, while this equipment item is still controlled by a previous version of said software application stored in an active memory zone, distinct from said standby memory zone, and finally, switching said standby and active memory zones, said equipment item being then controlled by the new software application version stored in the active memory zone after the memory zones have been switched.
