Abstract: A keyboard device for a keyboard instrument, which is capable of realizing the same operation of an action as performed by that of a grand piano and enables to obtain the same key touch feeling and performability as provided by the grand piano during musical performance. The keyboard device includes a swingable key, an action unit operating in conjunction with depression of the key, and a hammer pivotally supported on a hammer support shaft of a hammer support and placed on the action unit via a hammer protrusion. The action unit includes a holder fixed to a rear end of the key, a repetition lever and a jack pivotally mounted to the holder, jack latching means for disengaging a hammer push-up portion of the jack from the hammer protrusion, and jack returning means for returning the hammer push-up portion to its position before disengagement.

The hammer includes a hammer body made of a synthetic resin, and the hammer protruding portion includes a protruding portion body protruding downward and formed integrally with the hammer body, and a roller bush attached to the hammer body in a state of covering the protruding portion body.

The hammer has a backcheck engagement portion protruding downward in front of the hammer support shaft, and the key is provided with a backcheck that stops the hammer by engagement of the backcheck engagement portion when the hammer driven upward with depression of the key rebounds and rotates downward.
