  • Patent number: 9277373
Abstract: Methods, systems and devices are provided for managing press-to-transmit (PTX) communications on a PTX device, including include receiving at a recipient PTX device a first indication that a floor grant has been granted to an originating PTX device. Also, determining whether a PTX message segment from the originating PTX device should be buffered for delayed playback by the recipient PTX device. Further, transmitting a buffer signal based on determining the PTX message segment should buffered, the buffer signal indicating one of a request to buffer the PTX message segment and a recipient storage indication signifying the PTX message segment will be stored in a memory of the recipient PTX device. Further still, transmitting a ready signal indicating the recipient PTX device is ready to output PTX message segments.

  • Patent number: 8959358
Abstract: Techniques disclosed herein provide for verifying the identity of a prospective social network member using an authentication process in which one or more existing members of the social network who are knowledgeable of the identity of the prospective member communicate with the prospective member in real time. During the real-time communication, biometric information of the prospective member can be associated with a profile for the prospective member. During or after the real-time communication, the existing member(s) can verify the identity of the prospective member. Once the prospective member's identity has been properly verified, the prospective member can be granted access to the social network.

  • Publication number: 20140351181
Abstract: Various embodiments for a learning device to improve the performance of learned behaviors by requesting information from proximate devices within a decentralized system including a learning device method for generating, by the learning device, a first pattern based upon one or more obtained events, determining whether the first pattern exactly matches a known second pattern, determining whether the first pattern matches the second pattern within a predefined threshold in response to determining that the first pattern does not exactly match the second pattern, identifying a missing event of the second pattern in response to determining that the first pattern matches the second pattern within the predefined threshold, and broadcasting, by the learning device, a message requesting data related to the identified missing event. Data received in response to request messages may be used to recognize that the known second pattern is matched.
