  • Patent number: 11957138
Abstract: The present invention includes a process for producing a protein product from plants and yeasts. The process comprises the steps of: a) providing a thin stillage or a thin stillage concentrate; b) separating a protein concentrate from the provided thin stillage from a) by means of solid-liquid separation; c) diluting the protein concentrate from b) with an aqueous process liquid to a dry substance content of at most 15 wt. %, tempering the diluted protein concentrate to a temperature of at least 60° C.

  • Publication number: 20230271106
Abstract: The present invention primarily concerns a process for producing a plastic material, comprising the steps (i) providing a corn gluten source and a first liquid phase comprising an organic solvent; (ii) extracting solvent-soluble components of the corn gluten source into the first liquid phase; (iii) precipitating a first fraction of the solvent-soluble components out of the first liquid phase, resulting in a second solid phase including the first fraction of the solvent-soluble components and a second liquid phase including a second fraction of the solvent-soluble components; (iv) separating the second solid phase and the second liquid phase; and (v) recovering a flexible plastic material from the second liquid phase or recovering a hard plastic material from the second solid phase.

  • Publication number: 20230183485
Abstract: A process for producing a thermoplastic material for use as powder or slurry for further processing such as injection molding or coating, comprising the steps of mixing a biomass containing prolamins, such as a grain source or a water insoluble fraction of a grain, having prolamins and lipids, and an organic solvent to obtain undissolved components and dissolved components comprising dissolved prolamin, lipids and other dissolved components, extracting the dissolved components into a first liquid and extracting undissolved components in a first solid under the specific conditions. separating the first solid from the first liquid, recovering the thermoplastic material from the first liquid as powder by removing organic solvent under the conditions of maintaining temperature of the prolamins below 80° C., preferably below 75° C., maintaining a dielectric constant ?r between 30 and 42 at 25° C., and maintaining a pressure level at below 2 bar.

  • Publication number: 20230050909
Abstract: A process for producing a protein product from plants and yeasts comprises providing a thin stillage or a thin stillage concentrate; separating a protein concentrate from the thin stillage; diluting the protein concentrate to a dry substance content of at most 15 wt.%, tempering the diluted protein concentrate to at least 60° C., and adjusting the pH of the diluted and tempered protein concentrate to alkaline; cooling the processed protein concentrate and subsequently separating a liquid phase; adjusting the pH of the separated liquid phase to an acidic pH, and then separating a solid phase; and dispersing the solid phase in a solvent and subsequently separating a product phase, wherein the product phase comprises the protein product from plants and yeasts.

  • Patent number: 11485990
Abstract: 1) A method for obtaining a concentrated protein-rich phase from residues of bioethanol production. 2.1) Previously, the separation of a protein-rich phase from whole stillage from bioethanol production has been achieved either by the addition of chemicals or by process steps that are complex in terms of equipment and/or energy. 2.2) Whole stillage from bioethanol production is fed to a solid-liquid separation, and the liquid phase (thin stillage) resulting from this is partially returned to the mashing process. This recirculation increases the raw protein content in the process. Part of the thin stillage is diluted and fed to a simple separation process without the addition of chemicals and temperature treatment, with a protein-rich phase being obtained. 2.3) A protein-rich phase is obtained from residues of bioethanol production.
