Abstract: An odor-absorbing foam composition comprising a cyclodextrin crosslinked with a polyurethane prepolymer. In one embodiment, the foam includes a ratio of the cyclodextrin to the polyurethane prepolymer selected to result in formation of the foam. The odor-absorbing foam may be used in a personal care product or wound care. A process for preparing a foam, including providing a cyclodextrin; providing a polyurethane prepolymer; combining the cyclodextrin with the polyurethane prepolymer; and allowing the polyurethane prepolymer to react with water and crosslink the cyclodextrin to form the foam. A process for preparing an odor-absorbing foam article such as a personal care product, including preparing the foam and applying it or the components thereof to a suitable substrate.

Abstract: An adhesive composition comprising silicone adhesives and one or more absorbent fillers such as hydrocolloids is disclosed. The adhesive composition is particularly well suited for use in negative pressure wound therapies.

Abstract: Various compositions including vegetable oil are described. The compositions also include either or both of an adhesive component and a hydrocolloid component. The vegetable oil imparts a skin-soothing property in the resulting compositions. The compositions can be used in a wide range of medical products and consumer healthcare goods.

Abstract: Methods for incorporating chlorhexidine salts into solvent based adhesives are described. The methods involve freeze drying an aqueous solution of the chlorhexidine salt and obtaining the chlorhexidine salt in a particulate form. The dry powder can then be dissolved into an appropriate solvent used with the adhesive of interest. Also described are particles including chlorhexidine salts that are incorporated in adhesives. Also described are various medical products utilizing the adhesive and chlorhexidine compound, and related methods of use.
