  • Patent number: 10078969
Abstract: A gaming platform including a touch panel having a contact surface that a user may contact to operate the gaming platform to perform a gaming function. A plurality of touch regions divides the contact surface into a plurality of discrete regions. Each touch region may correspond to a different gaming function such that contacting the contact surface of the touch panel within a particular touch region causes the gaming platform to perform a corresponding gaming function. The gaming platform may include a plurality of touch regions each corresponding to the gaming platform playing a different musical note. In this configuration, each touch region may correspond to a key, string, striking surface, or other musical part for playing a particular musical note.

  • Publication number: 20180207518
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to materials, devices, systems, and processes for magnetic identification of an object. Embodiments may include receiving from a plurality of sensors arranged within a layer of material an indication of a strength or signature of a magnetic field proximate to the corresponding sensor. The magnetic field may be created by the arrangement of one or more magnets proximate to a surface of the object where the surface is proximate to the plurality of sensors. Embodiments may include determining, based upon the indication of the strength or signature of the magnetic field proximate to the corresponding sensor, an arrangement of magnets proximate to the surface of the object. Based on the determined arrangement of the magnets on the surface of the object, the process may include identifying the object or the surface of the object. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

  • Publication number: 20180021677
Abstract: Systems and methods may provide for determining an identity of an interchangeable overlay adjacent to a detection mat of a floor-based game management apparatus and detecting foot-based user input via an array of sensors distributed across a surface of the detection mat. Additionally, game-related user feedback may be output via one or more speakers of the floor-based game management apparatus based at least in part on the foot-based user input and the identity of the interchangeable overlay. In one example, at least a portion of the game-related user feedback is output via an array of light sources distributed across the surface of the detection mat.

  • Publication number: 20170178117
Abstract: A mechanism is described for facilitating smart geo-fencing-based payment transactions according to one embodiment. A method of embodiments, as described herein, includes detecting, by one or more capturing/sensing components of a data processing device, a first computing device within proximity of a geo-fenced location. The method further include receiving detection information relating to the detection of the first computing device, authenticating at least one of the first computing device and the geo-fenced location, and interfacing the first computing device with a second computing device. The method may further include facilitating a payment transaction, where the payment transaction includes payment of a monetary amount from the second computing device to the first computing device, and executing the payment transaction.

  • Patent number: 9485207
Abstract: Embodiments related to a message processing system are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a computing system may include receiver logic to receive a message addressed to a user; analysis logic to determine whether a message collection, including the received message, has a common theme (e.g., a common sender or common content); modality logic to identify a messaging modality associated with each of the messages in the message collection; criteria logic to determine whether the message collection satisfies modality criteria (e.g., the messages represent at least two different messaging modalities); and notification logic to provide a notification of the message collection in response to determining that the message collection has a common theme and satisfies the modality criteria. Other embodiments may be disclosed and/or claimed.

  • Patent number: 6963334
Abstract: A system and method is discloses for remotely displaying and creating handwritten information in real time. A first writing/display surface is used in conjunction with a stylus to scribe graphical images as well as text onto the surface for sharing the scribed information with other users. Once the handwritten information is created by touching the stylus to the first writing/display surface it is immediately sent to a remote second writing/display surface. A user of the second writing/display surface receives and views the transmitted handwritten information and then can transmit information by touching the stylus to the writing/display surface. The present invention, allows users to view the same workspace and make modifications to the displayed texts and graphics in real time.

  • Patent number: 6862611
Abstract: A system and method are provided for providing Internet addresses corresponding to an electronic signal, such as a video or audio program, to a user. The system includes a receiver for receiving at least one electronic signal, where the electronic signal includes one or more Internet addresses embedded therein. A decoder in communication with the receiver is operable to extract the one or more Internet addresses from the electronic signal. The system further includes a processor in communication with the decoder. The processor compiles a historical list of the one or more Internet addresses extracted from the electronic signal, and includes memory for storing the historical list. A web browser connected to the processor is operable to present the historical list of Internet addresses to the user.

  • Patent number: 6438752
Abstract: A system and method for selecting programs based on the past selection history of an identified user that allows the identified user to “surf” directly between desired programs. The system includes a head-end server operable to receive program signals from a programming source, and a user input apparatus, such as a remote controller, which is operable to generate an input signal indicating the identity of a user and an input signal indicating a degree of a selection preference. The system further includes at least one set-top box having a program receiver to receive the program signals from the head-end server, and a user input receiver for receiving the input signals from the user input apparatus.
