  • Patent number: 10557369
Abstract: The invention provides a drain to allow water to flow out of a pressure sensing line. The drain comprises a tube including a plurality of restrictors in flow series, each restrictor comprising a constriction whose internal diameter is less than the internal diameter of the tube.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 20, 2016
Date of Patent: February 11, 2020
    Assignee: ROLLS-ROYCE plc
    Inventor: Annegret W Siebert
  • Patent number: 10196925
Abstract: An actuation arrangement for effecting actuation of a variable stator vane pivotally mounted on a tubular casing. The actuation arrangement includes: an actuator connector connected to the variable stator vane via an actuating lever; an anchor fixedly mounted relative to the circumference of the tubular casing; an actuator; and a belt extending from the actuator to the fixed pulley. The actuation arrangement further includes a movable pulley movable relative to the tubular casing and connected to the actuator connector. The belt has a loop portion provided between the proximal and distal ends which loops around the movable pulley, the loop portion for transferring forces generated in the belt by the actuator to the movable pulley to effect movement of the movable pulley and actuator connector towards the anchor to effect actuation of the variable stator vane via the actuating lever.

  • Patent number: 7941993
Abstract: Cavities 4 are defined within an engine nacelle 1 with an inner surface 2 and an outer surface 3. Within these cavities 4, an evaporatable liquid 5 is arranged such that a proportion of the liquid 5 is in a gaseous phase in order to facilitate heat transfer between the inner surface 2 or the outer surface 3 and a hot surface. The liquid condenses upon the inner surface 2 or the outer surface 3 and collects into a pool for subsequent further evaporation by the hot surface of an insulated gate bi-polar transistor or convertor/generator components in order to facilitate further cooling of electric components housed or arranged in the nacelle 1 or nearby.
