Publication number: 20100292998Abstract: A system (10) for providing a recipe recommendation to a user is provided. The system (10) comprises storage means (15) for storing recipes with ingredients and a user profile with food consumption relevant information about the user. A processor (14) is coupled to the storage means (15) for generating the recipe recommendation by, based on the user profile, selecting one of the stored recipes. A user interface (13), coupled to the processor (14) provides the recipe recommendation to the user. The storage means (15) further comprises an ingredient replacements list with list entries. A list entry comprises an original ingredient of one of the stored recipes, and a corresponding alternative ingredient. The processor (14) is arranged for, based on the user profile, adapting the selected recipe by substituting an original ingredient of the selected recipe with the corresponding alternative ingredient and for providing the adapted recipe to the user interface (13).Type: ApplicationFiled: March 8, 2007Publication date: November 18, 2010Applicant: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS ELECTRONICS N.V.Inventors: Maarten Peter Bodlaender, Arvid Randal Nicolaas, Olivier Schneider, Mariana Simons-Nikolova, Annelies Goris

Patent number: 7769635Abstract: A weight management system comprises a cash register (CRS), a user client (UC) and a weight management module (WM), coupled via a wide area network (WAN). A user has a personal card (PC) with a code, the code identifying the user to the cash register and being related to a user ID. The cash register system (CRS) is arranged for sending, when the user pays the food item, corresponding food intake information and the user ID to the weight management module (WM). The weight management module (WM) comprises a food information system, a calorie intake component and a calorie balance component. The food information system stores a respective calorie content for a plurality of food items. The calorie intake component is coupled to the food information system and calculates an amount of calories taken by the user based on the received food intake information.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2006Date of Patent: August 3, 2010Assignee: Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V.Inventors: Mariana Simons-Nikolova, Maarten Peter Bodlaender, Annelies Goris, Olivier Schneider

Publication number: 20080269578Abstract: The invention relates to a method for detecting an analyte within tissue of a patient or an animal. In the laboratory medicine it is often necessary to determine the amount of analytes within body fluids such as blood. For that purpose a blood withdrawal is carried out by experienced medical personnel, and the blood is analysed in the laboratory. This ex-vivo measurement of analytes is uncomfortable for the patient. Moreover, there is an unwanted delay between the blood withdrawal and the time at which the measurement values are obtained from the laboratory. In order to avoid these disadvantages it is suggested to detect analytes 1 in the body fluids by using laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS). In this way it is possible to generate a plasma 6 within tissue, e.g. skin 3, of the body 2 in a certain depth below the surface of the skin 3, to detect the plasma light 16, and to extract the desired information from an analysis of the detected plasma light.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 30, 2006Publication date: October 30, 2008Applicant: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS ELECTRONICS , N.V.Inventors: Annelies Goris, Rieko Verhagen
