Patent number: 12595074Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for configuring and using on-board luggage space availability indicators are provided. An example method includes initializing multiple sensors, each of which includes a receiver, in an interior space of an overhead bin, using the receiver in each of the multiple sensors to acquire a signal, and determining, based on the received signals, an amount of empty space corresponding to a respective sensor of the multiple sensors. Based on the amount of empty space indicated by each of the multiple sensors, one of multiple visual indicators is selected. Herein, each of the multiple visual indicators is indicative of a different available capacity of the overhead bin, e.g., a first visual indicator indicates the overhead bin is empty, whereas a last visual indicator indicates the overhead bin has no more space for additional luggage. The overhead bin visual indicator is then displayed using a light-emitting means.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 2024Date of Patent: April 7, 2026Assignee: Panasonic Avionics CorporationInventors: Cesar Tejeda, Annie Lu, Shreyang Prajapati, William Brinser, Danila Larin, Jeff Santiago

Publication number: 20250356953Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for microbial sensing and predictive growth modeling. A system can include one or more processors, coupled with memory, to receive genetic information of a microbe in a production system, the genetic information sequenced from a sample taken from the production system. The one or more processors can execute at least one model trained by machine learning using the genetic information to identify the microbe or determine a characteristic of the microbe. The one or more processors can update operation of the production system using the identity of the microbe or the characteristic of the microbe.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 16, 2025Publication date: November 20, 2025Applicant: H2OK Innovations Inc.Inventors: David LU, Richard M. Patent number: 12025786Abstract: A portable variable focus microscope includes a housing having a lower section and an upper section secured together. A lens is removably disposed on at least one lens retention feature of the upper section. The scope further includes a slide platform and a height adjuster, where rotation of the height adjuster within the scope housing adjusts a relative distance between the slide platform and the lens to adjust a focus of the lens. The scope may be used in conjunction with a mobile data device to capture an image of a sample on a slide received in the scope. A program including a CNN algorithm may be employed to identify contaminants in the sample.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 2021Date of Patent: July 2, 2024Assignee: H2Ok Innovations Inc.Inventors: David Lu, Annie Lu, Lin Zhu, Anurag Mitra

Patent number: 11504673Abstract: Disclosed herein are multi-layer structures comprising a first composite layer disposed over a second composite layer, wherein the first composite layer contains a first active material dispersed in a first polymer containing an elastomeric polymer and the second composite layer contains a second polymer which may have a second active material dispersed therein, wherein the first active material chemically or physically interacts with at least one toxic chemical and is selected from the group consisting of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), metal oxides, metal hydroxides, zeolites, and combinations thereof, and wherein the active material and the second active material (if present) are the same as or different from each other, and the first polymer and second polymer are the same as or different from each other, subject to the proviso that the first composite layer and the second composite layer compositionally differ from each other in at least one respect.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2018Date of Patent: November 22, 2022Assignees: GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES, AS REPRESENTED BY THE DEFENSE THREAT REDUCTION AGENCY, GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES, AS REPRESENTED BY THE SECRETARY OF THE ARMY, UNIVERSITY OF DELAWAREInventors: Gregory W.
