  • Patent number: 7473365
Abstract: The biological water or wastewater treatment process described herein alternates aeration and anoxic phases during a water treatment process. According to one exemplary process, the water or wastewater is directed into a biological tank. The water or wastewater in the biological tank is aerated until measured nitrate or redox values meet high nitrate or high redox set value conditions relative to minimum aeration and maximum aeration time requirements. Subsequently, the water or wastewater is subjected to anoxic treatment until the measured nitrate value meets low nitrate set value conditions relative minimum and maximum anoxia time requirements.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 22, 2004
Date of Patent: January 6, 2009
    Assignee: OTV SA S.A.
Inventors: Loic Oger, Annie Tazi Pain, Michele Payraudeau
  • Patent number: 7172701
Abstract: A method of treating water including mixing the water with an inorganic powder reagent for reducing the content of organic matter. The water, after being mixed with the inorganic powder reagent, is subjected to a membrane separation step that produces blow off products that are then separated into two fractions: a first fraction containing a majority portion of the powder reagent in a first stream of water, and a second fraction containing a majority portion of inorganic matter not absorbed on the inorganic powder reagent rejected by the membrane separation step in a second stream of water.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 21, 2003
Date of Patent: February 6, 2007
    Assignee: OTV SA S.A.

  • Patent number: 6045698
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of cleaning a filtration installation of the type including a plurality of immersed membranes in at least one tank containing an effluent to be filtered, said method being characterised in that it includes the steps consisting of:at least partially draining the effluent contained in said tank in a way that exposes said membranes to the air;causing at least one cleaning solution to pass through said membranes along a flow path opposite to the filtration flow of the effluent by feeding in said cleaning solution from the permeate side of said membranes.
