  • Patent number: 9860196
Abstract: In a Fiber Channel SAN and its included routers, each router contains only the LSAN zones that contain devices attached to edge fabrics which are connected to the router. LSAN zone entries include the fabric ID (FID) of each device in addition to the WWN. When a router obtains a new zone database for a newly connected or changed fabric, the router scans the LSAN zone entries for fabric IDs matching a fabric connected to the router and stores those entries. All other LSAN zone entries are not stored. In this manner the size of the relevant tables are reduced, which allows for greater expansion of the SAN as a whole.

  • Patent number: 9070171
Abstract: A client-server social-network for providing automated clothing suggestions. Fashion interested users form social networks, upload records of their respective wardrobes and fashion preferences, and display their wardrobe items and outfits other members of the network, often displaying entire outfits using customizable virtual mannequins. The social network members can evaluate the fashion merits of both their outfits and their friend's outfits, and the system will further store data pertaining to the social network group's fashion assessments. The system may also make statistical inferences as to what types of clothing may be favored and disfavored by the user's social network group, and present these recommendations to the user. Other factors, such as weather, event type, and user's recent history of wearing various wardrobe items can also be considered.

  • Patent number: 8768844
Abstract: A personal video recorder (PVR) enables delivery of audio-visual content and associated metadata to storage devices. The PVR is configured to access a plurality of services using a plurality of storage modules. Each storage module is dedicated to a single designated content provider. One or more of the storage modules are removably coupled to the PVR. A disconnected storage module can be reconnected to another PVR different from the PVR from which the storage module was disconnected. Where authorization is required to access content stored on the storage module, authentication is performed each time the removable storage module is reconnected to a PVR.

  • Patent number: 8051078
Abstract: A multi-media broadcasting system that links a user profiles associated with a first user with a second user profile associated with a second user, where the first and second user profiles each comprise an indication of an interest common to the first and second users. The user profiles allow a user to customize a viewing experience via the broadcasting system. In addition, the system detects a content update to the first user profile, wherein the content update is associated with a content item that comprises content having a characteristic within the interest common to the first and second users. Furthermore, the system notifies the second user of the content update if the second user profile has not been updated with the content update.

  • Patent number: 6861881
Abstract: A fractional clock divider system and method is provided. The clock divider is configured to provide an output clock signal in response to an input clock signal. The frequency of the output clock signal may be an integral or fractional division of the input clock signal. The output frequency is equal to: (ref_freq*2)/mul, where ref_freq is the frequency of the input clock signal, and mul is a selected integer that is greater than one. The positive and negative edges of the input clock are counted to provide a positive count and a negative count respectively. A table is configured to store preselected reference values. A logic circuit is configured to control the output clock signal such that an appropriate clock transition occurs in the output clock signal when the positive and negative count reach the corresponding preselected reference values.

  • Publication number: 20030219229
Abstract: A system and method for remote recording of programs using a broadcast without a direct internet connection including receiving preferences provided by a system user via cable service provider, using the preferences to determine broadcast media to be recorded, recording the determined broadcast media and presenting the recorded broadcast media to an end user. The system of the present invention utilizes the broadcast channel to directly send information to the user's audio/video recording system located at a different location. Since the cable service provider presently sends programming information to each household using the broadcast channel, additional information can also be added to this channel. Hence, a system user can access his audio/video recording system without actually having to directly communicate with his audio/video recording system.
