  • Publication number: 20140305415
Abstract: An arrangement for control of an engine, the arrangement having a super-charger adapted to be disposed between an air intake and an inlet manifold of the engine, the super-charger device being adapted to boost the pressure of the intake air to the engine. The arrangement also has an exhaust gas recirculation, EGR, system, and a super-charger bypass conduit arranged to facilitate a variable bypassing of the super-charger device, the EGR flow level to be controlled such that the effect of the EGR system on the combustion process of the engine can be continuously varied. The arrangement is further adapted to sense a boost pressure level and an inlet temperature level of the inlet air at the inlet manifold of the engine, and to adjust said super-charger bypass and EGR level in order to reach a pre-determined inlet temperature and boost pressure level, thus facilitating control of the combustion process.

  • Patent number: 7270888
Abstract: A composite body made of at least two ceramic layers, in which the ceramic layers are permanently bonded to one another at defined bonding points by a contact layer made of a bonding material. To achieve a permanent, thermally stable bond of ceramic layers having different coefficients of thermal expansion, the bonding material has a low modulus of elasticity. During the manufacture of the composite body, the bonding points of the ceramic layers are pretreated to form a porous surface structure, the bonding material is applied to these bonding points, and after the ceramic layers are laid one on top of another with bonding points facing toward one another and bonding material lying between them, the assembled composite body is subjected to a heat treatment.

  • Publication number: 20040146084
Abstract: A lambda sensor for motor vehicles which permanently displays an at least temporary thermal overload by means of an indicator which, for fast reliable and unambiguous diagnosis without major additional measurement effort or expense, includes an indication material having at least one limit temperature adapted to the maximum allowable operating temperature of the component, and when this limit temperature is exceeded in at least one material component, a microstructural change ensues.

  • Patent number: 5972284
Abstract: Solid, homogenous or porous, shaped bodies are formed from different powders such as metals and ceramics by preparation of an aqueous slurry of the powder, which slurry comprises a protein substance which is soluble in water at ambient temperatures and capable of forming an irreversible gel on heating to a temperature not exceeding 90.degree. C. The protein substance, for example albumin, is used in an amount sufficient for the formation of a gel. The slurry is formed into a body of the desired shape by methods such as molding, tapecasting or dropforming and heating to a temperature at least corresponding to the gelling temperature of the protein.
