  • Patent number: 10475555
Abstract: A metallized optical fiber comprises: A) An optical fiber, and B) A conductive metal over and in contact with the optical fiber and having a thickness that is at least 0.15 times the thickness of the optical fiber. The metallized optical fiber can form a component of a hybrid optical fiber/coaxial cable, and it provides good protection against interference with the data signal traveling along the optical fiber from electrical current from an adjacent or near-by electrical conductor.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 5, 2013
Date of Patent: November 12, 2019
    Assignee: Dow Global Technologies LLC
Inventors: Lin Fu, Anny Flory, Damien Polanksy, Chester J. Kmiec

  • Patent number: 9103966
Abstract: Plastic optical fibers or plastic optical fiber cores with good high temperature resistance to optical attenuation loss are prepared from a cyclic block copolymer characterized by a: A. Weight ratio of hydrogenated conjugated diene polymer block to hydrogenated vinyl aromatic polymer block of 35:65 to 10:90; B. Number average molecular weight (Mn) of from 40,000 to 150,000, grams per mole (g/mol); and C. Hydrogenation level such that each hydrogenated vinyl aromatic polymer block and each hydrogenated conjugated diene polymer block has a hydrogenation level of at least 95 percent.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 3, 2010
Date of Patent: August 11, 2015
    Assignee: Dow Global Technologies LLC
Inventors: Thomas S. Lin, Anny Flory, Dirk B. Zinkweg, Jeffrey M. Cogen, Mary Anne Leugers, Weijun Zhou
  • Patent number: 8912297
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a process for producing low density polyethylene with a dissipation factor less than or equal to 1.48×10?4 radian at 2.47 GHz. The process includes free radical high pressure polymerization of ethylene and separation of the unreacted species from the resultant polyethylene to form a recycle stream. The process further includes purging dissipative components from the recycle stream. The purged recycle stream is then introduced into the polymerization reactor.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 8, 2012
Date of Patent: December 16, 2014
    Assignee: Dow Global Technologies LLC
Inventors: Anny Flory, Michael L. Smith, Chester J. Kmiec, Robert F. Eaton, Alfred E. Vigil
