  • Patent number: 11284792
Abstract: Systems and methods for enhancing quality of a flow image of a sample of a subject are provided. The method comprises acquiring a first flow image from a plurality of first OMAG scans of the sample, and acquiring a structure image from a second OMAG scan of the sample. Data based on pixel intensity values from the flow image and pixel intensity values from the structure image are then plotted onto a graph and from the graph, may be differentiated into a first data group representing static structure signals and a second data group representing flow signals. The method then includes suppressing pixels in the flow image corresponding to the first data group. The flow signal may also be multiplied by a weighting factor to suppress artifacts in the image.

  • Patent number: 11156147
Abstract: A prechamber device includes an enclosure body and a cap forming an enclosed volume. The enclosure body has an orifice at one end. A precombustion chamber is defined within the enclosed volume and is in fluid communication with the orifice. A valve plug is movable along an axial axis of the enclosure body to adjust a valve opening at the orifice to a range of positions from a fully open position to a closed position. An actuator is coupled to the cap and the valve plug and is controllable to displace the valve plug along the axial axis of the enclosure body. The prechamber device is operable to generate turbulent jets that are directed into a main combustion chamber of an engine cylinder through the valve opening. During an engine cycle, the valve opening is controlled between the range of positions based on detected engine speed and engine load.

  • Publication number: 20210128592
Abstract: A pre-prodrug, comprising a drug, e.g., doxorubicin, which has off-target toxicity (e.g., cardiotoxicity) with respect to its antineoplastic activity, and an amine functionality of the drug incorporated into a disubstituted maleimide (DMI). The pre-prodrug may be linked to a targeting or de-targeting agent or a polar modulator, e.g., charged ligand, amino acid, peptide, etc., to increase therapeutic index. The pre-prodrug is hydrolyzed to the prodrug, having a disubstituted maleamic acid (DMA). A polar modulator such as glutamic acid prevents cellular uptake of the prodrug, but not the doxorubicin drug released from the prodrug after dissociation. The prodrug is pH sensitive, and below pH 7.0, tends to cleave to form free drug and cyclized maleic anhydride. Tumor environments tend to be more acidic, e.g., pH 6.8, than cardiac tissue, e.g., pH 7.4, and therefore the heart is spared while the drug is selectively released within a tumor.

  • Patent number: 10646105
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an achromatic endoscope which employs a diffractive microlens. Along with a broadband rotary joint and a custom 800 nm SD-OCT system, ultrahigh-resolution 3D volumetric imaging over a large area becomes possible. The diffractive microlens can be used directly with a GRIN lens, making the endoscope design simpler and cost effective. Preliminary ex vivo 3D intraluminal imaging was performed with the endoscope in conjunction with a home-built broadband rotary joint and a spectral-domain OCT system, demonstrating the performance of the diffractive endoscope. Considering the miniature OCT imaging probe is the required component for using the OCT technology in internal organs, the proposed approach will have a broad impact on endoscopic OCT imaging by improving OCT resolution in any applications that involve a miniature OCT probe, as intravascular OCT imaging, gastrointestinal (GI) tract imaging, airway imaging etc.

  • Patent number: 10529061
Abstract: Systems and methods of producing medical images of a subject are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, structural data and vascular data are acquired from a region of interest in the subject. A filter is generated using structural image data acquired from a second layer and blood flow image data received from a first layer in the region of interest. The filter is applied to vascular image data acquired from a second, deeper layer in the region of interest to form an image of the second layer having reduced tailing artifacts relative to the unfiltered vascular image data.
