    Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying an unconformity in a subsurface formation include collecting well log measurements from a set of wells in the subsurface formation and collecting core samples from a first subset of the set of wells. A second subset of wells without lithology contrast is identified. Fractures and bedding planes are characterized in borehole image logs for wells in the second subset. For wells in the first and second subsets, the location of the unconformity is determined based on the core samples, and correlations are generated between the determined location of the unconformity and the identified fractures and bedding planes in the borehole image logs. For wells in the second subset and not in the first subset: the location of the unconformity is determined based on the identified fractures, bedding planes, and generated correlations. An unconformity surface is generated.
