Abstract: A system and method are provided to process listing data in a network-based commerce system, for example, a network-based auction facility. The method may comprise providing a user with a graphic user interface to enter listing data in the network-based commerce system, the listing data including at least one entered word. A database including a plurality of reference words that relate to listings provided by the network-based commerce system may then be investigated. If at least one entered word is misspelled, the method may include identifying at least one suggested word from the plurality of reference words and communicating the at least one suggested word to the user. In one embodiment, the reference words include words frequently misspelled and the at least one suggested word is the correct spelling of the word. The at least one suggested word may be associated with at least one category associated with a listing.

Abstract: Shipping costs are managed in a process wherein a plurality of entities who possess articles ship the articles via a mail system to a plurality of entities who receive the articles. A database is maintained of articles and article attributes. For each shipped article, the shipment control entity receives information that an entity who possesses an article will ship the article via the mail system to an entity who will receive the article. The shipment control entity is unrelated to any of the article possessing or article receiving entities. Also, for each shipped article, article shipping costs is determined based at least on one or more of the article attributes obtained from the database, and payment to the mail system is initiated based on the article shipping costs. Article attributes include the weight of the articles and ancillary items associated with the article.

Abstract: Articles such as compact discs are traded among a plurality of members who are registered in a common community. Each member has an account including a trading credit balance and a mailing address. A user interface is provided that allows a member to enter articles that the member owns and is willing to trade and articles that the member wants to own. The user interface also receives article trading instruction messages. An administration computer hosts the plurality of members and facilitates article trades among the members. The administration computer identifies matches between owned and wanted articles. For each identified match, an article trading instruction message is sent to the article owner requesting that the article owner mail the owned article to the mailing address of the member who wants to own the article.

Abstract: A method and system to process a data search request. The system includes a query controller module to receive the data search request that includes constraints; a reduced constraint builder module to formulate a plurality of search definitions that are formulated to exclude at least one constraint; and a search engine to perform searches of a data source to generate search results and to utilize the search results to calculate counts of data items that respectively correspond to the search definitions. The query controller module communicates the counts of data items and the corresponding search definitions to a client machine. Each of the search definitions is formulated to include a constraint set.

The system receives a browser back button selection, associates the browser back button selection to a first user interface identifier, retrieves the first user interface based on the first user interface identifier, associates the first user interface identifier to a second user interface, and displays the second user interface responsive to selection of the browser back button.
