Publication number: 20220371561Abstract: A brake system for a motor vehicle has electromechanical wheel brakes, a brake operating unit and a central brake control unit. The wheel brakes each have a local brake control unit. The central brake control unit is connected to the brake operating unit and the local brake control units via a first data connection. The brake operating unit is connected to the local brake control unit of at least one wheel brake via a second data connection. In a normal operating mode the central brake control unit determines at least one brake demand from first operating information, received via the first data connection and transmits control signals corresponding to the brake demand to the local brake control units. In a fallback operating mode the local brake control units actuate the respective wheel brakes basis on second operating information, received via the second data connection.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 19, 2020Publication date: November 24, 2022Applicant: Continental Teves AG & Co. Patent number: 11223706Abstract: In a communication system for vehicle-to-environment communication, data to be transmitted is transmitted wirelessly as data packets. The system includes a communication unit and an application unit which are in contact with one another via an internal communication link, the communication unit having a high-frequency antenna and a transceiver for physical data transmission, in addition to a data processor for controlling the physical transmission. The application unit has at least one data processor configured to execute application programs, to control the access of the application programs to the vehicle-to-environment communication and to execute data communication security applications. The data processor of the application unit is configured to forward the data packets including the routing between communication users and to segment the data stream.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2013Date of Patent: January 11, 2022Assignee: Continental Automotive GmbHInventors: Ulrich Stählin, Marc Menzel, Stefan Götz, Martin Schürmeier, Anselm Keil, Sven Kretschmar, Richard Owen, Klaus Rink

Patent number: 9541408Abstract: The present invention describes a method for associating new data with a digital map which is available, preferably locally, in a vehicle, having the following steps: at least one new data value is received from a transmitter which is an element of a vehicle-to-vehicle communication and/or a vehicle-to-infrastructure communication, the new data value is compared with the existing data values from the digital map, and the new data value is added to the digital map or the existing data values are updated with the new data value, in each case on the basis of the result of the comparison. The specified method is used for improving the digital map material. The invention also describes a device for associating new data with a reception device and with a computation device.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 2010Date of Patent: January 10, 2017Assignee: Continental Teves AG & Co. oHGInventors: Ulrich Stählin, Thomas Grotendorst, Anselm Keil

Patent number: 9046440Abstract: A dummy device for testing a driver assistance system of a vehicle traveling on a roadway. The dummy device travels above the roadway, and includes a transceiver and a processor to test the driver assistance system of the vehicle by simulating a driver assistance system of another vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 2011Date of Patent: June 2, 2015Assignee: Continental Teves AG & Co. oHGInventors: Ulrich Stählin, Adam Swoboda, Anselm Keil, Xiuxun Yin, Sighard Schräbler

Publication number: 20130144484Abstract: A device for testing a safety and/or driver assistance system of a first vehicle with the participation of at least one second vehicle in the region of a fixedly predefined roadway section in particular in the region of an intersection, wherein the first vehicle and the at least one second vehicle comprise in each case at least one transmitter and/or at least one receiver for the C2X communication in connection with the safety and/or driver assistance system. In order to prevent or to keep to a minimum damages to vehicles and/or injury to persons, the second vehicle is represented by a dummy device that moves in the region of the roadway section, the dummy device having the largest portion of its volume and/or its mass outside the movement of the first vehicle.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 20, 2011Publication date: June 6, 2013Applicant: Continental Teves AG & CO oHGInventors: Ulrich Stählin, Adam Swoboda, Anselm Keil, Xiuxun Yin, Sighard Schräbler

Patent number: 8401238Abstract: An apparatus for map matching between a measured position for an object and information on a digital map is specified. This involves a computation unit being used to perform a first selection of cartography elements on the map on the basis of the measured position and on the basis of a predefined error. In addition, the computation unit is designed to provide the selected cartography elements for a first and a second secondary computation unit. In addition, values from the secondary computation units are converted in the same unit of measurement.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 2010Date of Patent: March 19, 2013Assignee: Continental Teves AG & Co. oHGInventors: Ulrich Stählin, Marti Minoves, Anselm Keil
