Abstract: To keep a bicycle fleet in good working condition, a bicycle sharing system may employ a fleet management and maintenance system. The various modules and databases of the fleet management and maintenance system coordinate with one another to contribute to an efficient bicycle sharing system. The fleet management and maintenance system may include a task creation module that can detect, create, and schedule maintenance tasks based on bicycle maintenance information. The fleet management and maintenance system may also include a notification module. After the task creation module creates a maintenance task, the notification module selects one or more maintenance providers for notification of the maintenance task. The fleet management and maintenance system may also include a maintenance verification module that determines the probability that a maintenance task completed by the assigned maintenance provider has not been satisfactorily performed and requires further verification.
