  • Patent number: 9119215
Abstract: A method and apparatus for enhanced packet traffic arbitration comprising conveying one or more of the following: a priority status, an operational status or a frequency status relating to a user device, wherein the conveying uses at least one scrambling code with good autocorrelation and cross-correlation properties and shares a single line shared multi-drop data bus; and commencing a slot timing for use by the user device.

  • Publication number: 20130260689
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for powering a battery-less wireless input device are provided in which the battery-less wireless input device is coupled with a short-range communications target. The short-range communications target includes an energy harvester for harvesting energy generated by a short-range communications initiator when the short-range communications initiator communicates with the short-range communications target. The battery-less wireless input device receives the harvested energy for powering itself from the energy harvester when the short-range communications initiator communicates with the short-range communications target. The battery-less wireless input device may include a capacitor for storing the received harvested energy. Accordingly, the input device may electrically operate without being powered by a battery, and may therefore have a reduced size and weight.

  • Publication number: 20120020348
Abstract: A serial coexistence interface between two radio devices is involved in arbitrating access to an antenna. The serial interface involves messages that are sent from one radio to the other radio. Serial messages communicated across the same conductor can communicate: 1) timing-precise antenna arbitration and control information, and 2) communication system state information. Examples of antenna arbitration timing-precise information include a request to use the antenna and a corresponding grant or no grant response. Communication system state information, on the other hand, is not involved in the carrying out of the mechanics of the packet-by-packet arbitration for the antenna, but rather is higher level system information usable to make higher level decisions about the arbitration strategy used. Communication system state information may include an indication of a button press, an indication of a user action, or a change in the operational mode of the higher level communication system.

  • Patent number: 6771727
Abstract: A method and a device are provided for acquiring synchronization to a received digital signal. The signal consists of consecutive frames with a frame synchronization pattern distributed over a significant part of a frame. A number of blocks of constant length (303) are received (302) and a passage is selected (304) from the same location within each received block. A regularly occurring bit value is observed (305, 306) at a constant bit position within the selected passages. As a response to an observed regularly occurring bit value, the corresponding position in the received digital signal is used (308, 309) as a starting point, and the rest of the distributed frame synchronization pattern is located within the received digital signal.
