  • Patent number: 10101860
Abstract: A projected capacitive touch sensor includes a sensor grid. The sensor grid includes one or more electrically conductive rows arranged in an at least partially transparent row layer. The sensor grid includes one or more electrically conductive columns arranged in an at least partially transparent column layer that is spaced apart from the row layer. The projected capacitive touch sensor includes a border region that surrounds at least a portion of the sensor grid. The border region includes a wired bus region that includes a row bus that extends from the one or more electrically conductive rows and a column bus that extends from the one or more electrically conductive columns. The projected capacitive touch sensor includes one or more connectors that are electrically connected to the row bus and the column bus. The wired bus region is configured to fold over an edge of a borderless display.

  • Patent number: 9958996
Abstract: A capacitive touch sensor is described. The touch sensor includes a sensor grid that includes a trace that has a trace start point and end point, is electrically conductive between the trace start point and the trace end point, is formed in one or more pairs of trace cells that each include a first trace cell and a second trace cell that is rotationally symmetrical to the first trace cell. The trace start point and the trace end point define a trace axis. A trace direction is defined from the trace start point to the trace end point. A trace-perpendicular direction is defined as being perpendicular to the trace direction. A segment of the trace that is formed in the first trace cell includes a first portion, a second portion, a third portion, a fourth portion, a fifth portion, a sixth portion, a seventh portion, and an eighth portion.

  • Patent number: 9798432
Abstract: This application relates to a projected capacitive touch sensor with polarity normalization. The sensor includes a sensor grid including one or more electrically conductive rows and one or more electrically conductive columns. The sensor further includes a first column multiplexer that is connected to a first portion of the one or more electrically conductive columns. The sensor further includes a second column multiplexer that is connected to a second portion of the one or more electrically conductive columns. The sensor further includes a polarity switching circuit that is configured to determine a polarity of a differential signal generated from an output of the first column multiplexer and an output of the second column multiplexer, and based on determining the polarity of the differential signal, determining whether to switch the polarity of the differential signal.

  • Patent number: 9715319
Abstract: This application relates to a projected capacitive touch sensor. The sensor includes a sensor grid including one or more electrically conductive rows and two or more electrically conductive columns. The sensor further includes an adaptive circuit that receives a signal associated with a first portion of the two or more columns and includes a direct route and an attenuator route, the attenuator route including an attenuator circuit for applying an amplitude decrease, an amplitude increase, or a phase shift to the sensor grid's signal, wherein the adaptive circuit is configured to switch between the direct route and the attenuator route. The sensor further includes a differential circuit that is configured to generate a differential signal based on an output signal from the adaptive circuit and a signal associated with a second portion of the two or more columns.
