  • Patent number: 5131150
Abstract: A flexible saw blade particularly well suited to the cutting of tree limbs, having a predetermined rivet pressure which assures that just the right degree of rivet pressure will act on transversely adjacent cutting links so that pivoting is easy but not too loose; having teeth pointed in predetermined directions to ensure sufficient kerf width to allow the flexible saw blade to pass through the limb as it cuts and prevents uncut wood from forming a ridge between the rows of cutting links, which would otherwise have the effect of impeding the cutting operation; and having a turn-link optionally incorporated which causes the flexible saw blade to automatically right itself with respect to the limb surface upon being passed over the limb and before actual cutting begins.

  • Patent number: 4524519
Abstract: A flexible saw is disclosed, including a plurality of toothed cutting links forming a continuous loop wherein the cutting links are arranged in two side-by-side rows with the cutting links in a staggered relationship. The links of each row each have opposite ends, respectively, aligned with the opposite ends of a pair of adjacent links of the other row. Rivets pivotally connect the aligned ends of the cutting links directly to each other. The flexible loop is mounted on a guide bar. The cutting links of each row each have a cutting tooth which extends away from the links of the other row. A safety bar is located between the teeth of the two rows of links to provide protection against accidental cutting.

  • Patent number: 4276799
Abstract: The invention is directed to a power tool apparatus such as a table saw which includes a housing having a table top with an appropriate opening for a motor driven tool. Pivotally mounted within the housing is an assembly which in the disclosed embodiment includes a frame having a subassembly pivotally mounted therein. A subassembly includes the tool, such as a saw blade, and the means for driving same. A first control includes a lever connected to the subassembly for pivoting same. The pivotal movement effected by the lever allows for quick and coarse setting of the tool at a desired elevation with respect to the tabletop. The control lever further includes a locking arrangement disposed thereon which is manipulatable by the same hand used to coarsely set the tool elevation. The locking arrangement secures the lever to the frame at the desired coarse setting.

  • Patent number: 4095370
Abstract: A vehicle window regulator of the disclosure includes a band trained over upper and lower idler rollers whose axes of rotation are parallel to the window and each other and also trained over a manually driven drive roller located intermediate the idler rollers and rotatable about an axis perpendicular to a plane through the idler roller axes. An inboard reach of the band extends between the idler rollers and is trained over the drive roller while including a half twist so that the natural configuration thereof accommodates for the different orientations of the drive roller axis and the idler roller axes without stressing the band. An outboard reach of the band is secured to the window by a connector to move the window as the drive roller moves the band. Preferably, a vertically extending housing of the band includes upper and lower ends that mount the idler rollers and an intermediate portion that mounts the drive roller.

  • Patent number: 4070058
Abstract: A seat recliner including seat back and cushion supports connected about a pivotal axis and positioned relative to each other against pivoting in an infinite position adjustable manner. A housing is fixed to one of the supports and defines a pair of locking surfaces extending about the pivotal axis on opposite sides thereof with curved shapes that have increasing radii from the axis in opposite directions. A pair of cam members pivotal on the housing about the axis have respective cam surfaces that oppose the locking surfaces of the housing from opposite sides of the pivotal axis with curved shapes that have increasing radii in the same direction as their associated locking surfaces. A pair of locking slides are slidably mounted on the other support in a pivotally fixed relationship.

  • Patent number: 4036078
Abstract: A vehicle parking brake pedal positioning mechanism of the disclosure positions a parking brake pedal in an actuated condition against pivotal movement toward a released position by an infinite position locking action. A frame of the mechanism rotatably supports the brake pedal and a locking member about a common pivotal axis so as to be rotatable with respect to the frame and each other. The frame and the locking member respectively include first and second cam surfaces extending about the pivotal axis and having portions with increasing radii from the axis in a direction corresponding to the brake pedal movement from the released position to the actuated condition.
