  • Publication number: 20150083819
Abstract: A illuminated table or desk top water display ornament can be used for everyday enjoyment and appropriate for every season and occasion. The water display ornaments embody a multiplicity of water displays, such as waterfalls, springs, waves, tides, cavitating bubbles, and the like, all combined and cycled in one system. The water display ornaments are simple in construction and maintain an aesthetically pleasing presentation to the viewer. Many options are available as a plug-in or slide-in module. This allows the viewer to change modules if desired to obtain different patterns, flows and sounds as desired. The water display ornaments can be efficacious modalities for attenuating an individual's adverse response to daily, weekly, annual or seasonal circadian cycles, such as seasonal affective disorder. Moreover, the water display ornaments offer life prolonging benefits similar to that attributed, by anecdotal evidence, to the ownership of a pet.

  • Publication number: 20140214414
Abstract: A communication system includes a front-end audio gateway or bridge and a hands-free device. An automatic speech recognition platform accessible to the hands-free device provides or makes available one or more preprocessing schemes and/or acoustic models to the front-end audio gateway or bridge. The preprocessing schemes or acoustic models can be identified by or provided before a connection is established between the front-end audio gateway and the automatic speech recognition platform, when a connection occurs between the front-end audio gateway and the automatic speech recognition platform, and/or during a speech recognition session.

  • Publication number: 20140169605
Abstract: An electronic amplifier device amplifies magnetic audio signals emanating from a portable electronic device placed thereon. The electronic amplifier device includes a housing having a designated area for placement of the portable electronic device thereon, an amplifier circuit, and at least one loudspeaker electrically coupled to the amplifier circuit. A wireless audio coupler circuit situated within the electronic amplifier device includes a magnetic signal pick-up coil which is situated in close proximity to the designated area on the housing. The magnetic signal pick-up coil senses magnetic signals emanating from the portable electronic device placed on the designated area of the housing, and the electronic amplifier device amplifies these signals and provides them to the loudspeaker.

  • Patent number: 8271744
Abstract: A device, method, and system for switching library managers of a data library while maintaining data library storage devices online. A library manager accepts and executes data transaction commands for access to data residing on the storage devices of the data library. A transition manager module receives a directive to transition library management functions from a first library manager to a second library manager. The transition manager module stops the first library manager from accepting new data transaction commands while maintaining the storage devices online. The first library manager may execute previously accepted data transaction commands. The transition manager module suspends the library management functions of the first library manager and activates the library management functions of the second library manager. The storage devices of the data library may complete data transaction commands throughout the library manager transition.
