  • Publication number: 20100000208
Abstract: There are provided hydraulic fluids comprising at least one phospholipid lubricant blended with one or more of a glycol, glycerol or a glycerol ester and having a water content of less than 10% by weight. Also provided are hydraulic systems and methods of using and manufacturing hydraulic fluids.
    Type: Application
    Filed: April 23, 2007
    Publication date: January 7, 2010
    Applicant: NICHE PRODUCTS LIMITED
Inventors: Thomas John McKechnie, Dean Anthony Askew
  • Publication number: 20070078068
Abstract: Invention relates to an aqueous hydraulic fluid comprising, in addition to water, at least one phospholipid lubricant, wherein the hydraulic fluid comprises less than 20% by weight of an oil selected from a mineral oil, a synthetic hydrocarbon oil or any mixture thereof. Preferably the or each phospholipid lubricant comprises a plant-derived lecithin.

  • Patent number: 4060667
Abstract: The invention concerns a high temperature lithium-sulfur secondary battery, characterized in that the cathode pellet is made from titanium disulphide. An electrolyte pellet is preferably prepared from a mixture of alkali metal halides.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 1, 1977
Date of Patent: November 29, 1977
    Assignee: National Research Development Corporation
Inventors: Barry Anthony Askew, Ronald Holland, Douglas Inman, Yusuf Mohamed Faruq Marikar
  • Patent number: 4013818
Abstract: The invention concerns a high temperature lithium-sulphur secondary battery. The cells of the battery are arranged in a stack, and each cell consists of a pellet of immobilized electrolyte sandwiched between a lithium containing negative electrode pellet and a metal sulphide positive electrode. Intercell metal sheets both maintain electrical contact and inhibit chemical reaction between the electrodes of adjacent cells, and the stack of cells is enclosed in a close-fitting tube of chemically inert and electrically insulating material.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 25, 1975
Date of Patent: March 22, 1977
    Assignee: National Research Development Corporation
Inventors: Barry Anthony Askew, Ronald Holland
  • Patent number: 3955636
Abstract: An apparatus for providing an indication of the weight of a load on a vehicle or on any part of the vehicle comprises a sensing operable between a moving part and a stationary part of the vehicle and sensing the distance between the stationary part and the moving part, a transducer unit converting any alteration of the said distance detected by the sensing means into a proportional electric property and an electrical gauge receiving the output from said transducer unit characterized in that the sensing means includes a sensor arm having two rigid end portions joined by a length of resilient material in a turn-buckle effect, with a rigid end portion being adapted to be connected between the moving part and the stationary part of the vehicle in such a manner as to detect any change in the alteration of the aforesaid distance.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 7, 1975
Date of Patent: May 11, 1976
