  • Patent number: 11643539
Abstract: Hoses include a tube, a reinforcement layer disposed outwardly from the tube, and a cover layer disposed outwardly from the reinforcement layer. The cover layer may be based on a first elastomeric blend of a first chlorinated polyethylene and chlorosulphonated polyethylene, a first flame-resistant composition, and a peroxide/sulfur curing system. The tube may be based upon a second elastomeric blend of a second chlorinated polyethylene and ethylene vinyl acetate rubber, a second flame-resistant composition, and a peroxide curing system. The first flame-resistant package and the second flame-resistant package includes one or more ingredients selected from the group consisting of antimony oxide, zinc molybdate/magnesium silicate complex, magnesium aluminum hydroxy carbonate, and aluminum trihydroxide. • Patent number: 10458573
Abstract: A hose includes an inner tube defining a central longitudinal axis there through, and is formed of a vulcanized rubber and a plurality of rod shaped particles orientated substantially parallel with the central longitudinal axis, along with other typical materials. The inner tube has a tube wall thickness (t) of between about 0.5 mm to about 1.5 mm, and the plurality of rod shaped particles is incorporated in an amount of 10% or less by weight. The hose further includes a tie layer directly surrounding the inner tube, a first reinforcement layer surrounding the tie layer, and at least a second reinforcement layer surrounding the first reinforcement layer. An interlayer is interposed between the first and the second reinforcement layer, and the interlayer bonds the first reinforcement layer to the second reinforcement layer. An outside cover surrounds the second reinforcement layer, as well as any additional layers.

  • Publication number: 20190186656
Abstract: A hose includes an inner tube, a cover, and at least three reinforcement layers applied between the inner tube and the cover, where two immediately adjacent reinforcement layers of the at least three reinforcement layers are applied in same spiral directions (+) (+), and where another reinforcement layer of the at least three reinforcement layers is applied in an opposing spiral direction (?). The inner tube may have a tube wall thickness (t) of between about 0.5 mm to about 1.5 mm, and the hose may have a wall thickness (T), where the tube wall thickness (t) may be less than about 25% of the hose wall thickness. Optional tie layers may be disposed between the at least three reinforcement layers. The inner tube may include rod shaped particles orientated substantially parallel with the central longitudinal axis of the hose.

  • Patent number: 9797703
Abstract: A method of measuring thickness of a material generally includes transmitting an oscillating signal from a first pad, through the material, to a second pad, and measuring the signal reflected back to the first pad. The material may be homogenous or heterogeneous, and has dielectric properties. The signal has its frequency varied over time so that the frequency response of the system (the first pad, the material, and the second pad) may be analyzed. The resonant frequency of the system is determined. The thickness of the material is determined based on the resonant frequency shift caused by a change in thickness of the material. The present invention may be advantageously employed to measure the thickness of a vehicle tire or other material. Related apparatuses are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20170006529
Abstract: A facility for interacting with data networks using a permanent network identifier persistently stored within a computing system is described. In one example facility, in response to each opportunity to connect to a data network, the facility identifies information for the data network, and determines whether the determined identifying matches any of a set of approved data networks. In response to determining that it does, the facility establishes a connection with the first data network using the computing system's permanent network identifier, and conducts the established connection with the first data network using the computing system's permanent network identifier. In response to determining that it does not, the facility establishes a connection with the data network using a temporary network identifier that is different from the computing system's permanent network identifier, and conducts the established connection with the data network using the temporary network identifier.

  • Patent number: 6721503
Abstract: Disclosed is a bidirectional optical link and method to facilitate bi-directional optical communications with a single optical fiber. Briefly described, the bi-directional optical link comprises a thin film detector having an upper surface facing a predetermined direction to receive incident light. Also, the link includes a thin film emitter stacked over the upper surface and oriented to direct a beam of light toward the predetermined direction. The thin film detector is relatively wide and flat, where the thin film emitter can be placed on the thin film detector while occluding only a portion of the thin film detector. Thus, the thin film detector can receive incident light from a single optical fiber facing the emitter/detector from the predetermined direction while at the same time emitting a beam of light into the same single optical fiber.
