  • Publication number: 20170278366
Abstract: A system and method for deadzone detection in a surveillance camera network is disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, a mobile user device held by an installer is moved through one or more critical paths within the premises while surveillance cameras of the network are capturing image data of the premises. An analytics system then tracks the installer/user device through the image data over the time interval for the critical path definition, and locates deadzones based on position information of the premises along the critical path and absence of installer/user device in the image data over the time interval. In another embodiment, an analytics system identifies individuals within image data captured from the cameras, tracks movement of the individuals across the fields of view of the cameras represented by the image data, and infers deadzones based on tracking the individuals and deadzone times calculated for each of the individuals.

  • Publication number: 20170280102
Abstract: A surveillance camera and image data storage system and method are disclosed. The system includes a network of surveillance cameras that generate image data and a storage allocation system implemented at the level of the individual surveillance cameras. The storage allocation system enables the surveillance cameras to distribute storage of their image data across one or more surveillance cameras having excess local storage available within the surveillance cameras. In one embodiment, a primary surveillance camera of the storage allocation system exchanges messages with the other cameras functioning as secondary surveillance cameras to determine the available and required storage resources of each of the cameras, and to store image data across the cameras in response to the determined available and required storage resources. The storage allocation system can also distribute storage of the image data of the cameras to a remote cloud storage system.

  • Publication number: 20160236184
Abstract: The present application describes a novel type of picolinamide-cinchona organocatalyst that allows for the successful transformation of ketimines to chiral amines with very high enantioselectivities and with the highest TOFs reported for any particular organocatalyst to date. These organocatalysts have also been immobilized to a variety of solid supports, including magneto-nanoparticles.

  • Patent number: 9347074
Abstract: A simple, inexpensive, and benign process to pretreat lignocellulose biomass for the economical production of biofuel and extraction of organic chemicals. Lignocellulose solids are mixed or blended with ammonium bicarbonate/carbonate and heated within a pressure reactor. At elevated temperature (e.g., >35° C.), the ammonium bicarbonate/carbonate dissociates into ammonia and carbon dioxide gases and water vapor, thereby causing a rise in pressure within the pressure reactor. Rapid release of the gases from the pressure reactor then ruptures biomass cell wall structures, which facilitates conversion of the cellulose and hemicellulose in the pretreated biomass to sugars that are fermentable into ethanol or other liquid fuels. Optionally, ammonia bicarbonate/carbonate can be reconstituted by cooling and precipitating the carbon dioxide and ammonia gases released from the pressure reactor for further use in the pretreatment process or sequestered as an end product.

  • Patent number: 9015694
Abstract: According to one embodiment of the invention, a method for altering stored firmware within a network device comprises receiving, by a first network device, information to download firmware. This information is provided from the first network device to at least a second network device, which is communicatively coupled to the first network device. The information enables the second network device to access a second version of firmware different than a first version of firmware installed on the second network device.

  • Patent number: 7806957
Abstract: A method is provided for producing a balanced fertilizer from an anaerobic digestion process. The process includes anaerobically digesting a diluted influent mixed slurry in a digestion area and producing an effluent. The process includes separating water from the effluent to produce a liquid effluent, which is used as recycle water and a dewatered solids effluent. The process includes separating toxic compounds from the recycle water via a toxics strip and recovery area. The process includes mixing the detoxified recycle water with an influent solids slurry in a mixing area to provide the diluted influent mixed slurry. The process includes combining the toxic compounds with the dewatered solids effluent to produce a balanced fertilizer.

  • Patent number: 7067181
Abstract: An insulating ceramic made up of a plurality of partially filled shapes (e.g., 101), such as oblate spheroids, spheres, and shapes free of corners, is provided. Each partially filled shape may include an inner skeleton (e.g., 102) and an outer skin (e.g., 104). The inner skeleton may be stabilized at a higher temperature relative to the outer skin. The shapes may be disposed in a binding matrix. The thickness of the outer skin may be very thin in view of the support provided by the inner skeleton, thereby improving the abradability characteristics of the ceramic.

  • Patent number: 5079798
Abstract: The improved glass hinge assembly includes a first hinge component in the form of a glass clamp having a spaced pair of flat, parallel vertical walls interconnected by a connector block therebetween, the walls and connector block defining a peripheral glass-receiving space. The block is notched out in the rear so as to receive a pivot block connected to and projecting forwardly from the front end of a second hinge component of the assembly, which second component can be a glass clamp similar to the first glass clamp or a flat wall bracket disposed perpendicular to the pivot block. A hinge sub-assembly interconnects the two hinge components through the connector block of the first hinge component and the pivot block.
