    Abstract: The present invention provides a stand comprising a base portion, an upright member attached to the base portion, a cantilever member having a first end attached to the upright member and a second end rotatably secured to a frame, the frame pivotally supporting a cradle arranged to have rested upon it a book or other printed matter and the attachment of the first end of the cantilever member to the upright member enabling the height of the frame to be varied.
