  • Patent number: 10392831
Abstract: There is disclosed a dead-latching slam bolt lock that includes a rotating dead-latching slam bolt which prevents attempts at breaking in without actuating the lock mechanism. A tongue or toggle acted on by the door jamb engages the bolt and initiates rotation thereof in the door closing direction, but is passive in the opening direction. The locking mechanism may be manual or electronic, and controls the position of a blocking element which alternately prevents and permits unlocking (rotation) of the rotating bolt. In a forward or blocking position, the blocking element prevents rotation of the bolt from a locked position, while in a retracted position the blocking element permits rotation of the bolt to an unlocked position. A spring detent plunger holds the rotating bolt in either its locked or unlocked positions.

  • Patent number: 9951546
Abstract: A safe locking system that provides a means to operate one of two (or more) safe locks of any type to facilitate safe opening of a door. The safe door can be opened by operating either of two locks, regardless of the type or style; e.g., e-locks and mechanical locks. A sliding bar assembly is mounted to the rear face of the safe door for displacing the boltwork into and out of the door frame. Extension of the lock bolts of both locks prevents movement of a main locking bar and attached boltwork, which prevents a user from opening the door. Retraction of either of the lock bolts permits sliding movement of the main locking bar, such that a user can unlock the door from the frame.

  • Patent number: 7057510
Abstract: A door condition sensor for a safe having a door. The sensor has a housing mounted on an inside surface of the door, frame engageable means for abutting the door frame, a driver rotatably mounted in the housing, analog signal generator mounted in the housing having a rotatable part driven by the driver, and spring for extending the frame engageable means that is slideably mounted and confined to linear displacement in the housing. The driver transforms displacement of the frame engageable means into rotational orientation of the driver. The generator produces analog signals corresponding to the rotational orientation of the rotatable part. A means converts analog signals from the generator to corresponding digital signals that are proportional to displacement of the frame engageable means. Memory means compares the displacement with a set point range thereby continually monitoring the condition of the door.

  • Patent number: 5249831
Abstract: A lock having a counterweight connected through a lever to a spring-actuated lock bolt on a safe to balance out any inertial forces tending to move the bolt out of its locking position when the safe is struck a heavy blow. A latch forming a part of the lock latches the bolt in its locking position when an attempt is made to dislodge or destroy the lock case or a part thereof. A selectively usable bolt part is effective to change the lock from a deadbolt type to a slam-bolt type.
