  • Patent number: 6254559
Abstract: An orthopedic hip joint assembly for connection between a pelvis attachment and a thigh attachment is especially useful in stabilizing a patient's hip postoperatively. It provides for free movement in a flexion extension plane between adjustable stops. The flexion extension plane is fixed at an angle to the vertical, preferably at about twenty degrees, so that the leg is neither abducted nor adducted when fully extended for best ambulation. When the leg is flexed for sitting, this angle causes the leg to abduct, or move away from the midline, thus preventing the unstable hip from dislocation or subluxation. A pair of wedge discs are provided, so that the angle between the pelvis attachment and the thigh attachment can be adjusted to fit hips of various widths.

  • Patent number: 6027466
Abstract: An orthopedic joint for connection between first and second body parts provides for free movement in a flexion/extension plane between adjustable stops. The joint further provides for continuous adjustment of an abduction angle. The adjustment can be made while the device is mounted on a wearer, and the adjustment will move the second body part for enhanced adjustability.

  • Patent number: 5839171
Abstract: An anchor for attaching a strap or belt to a panel is a one piece structure having a web attached to two flanges such that the flanges extend parallel to one another and spaced apart by a distance greater than the panel thickness. Each flange has a free end with a transverse aperture forming a loop to receive the strap therethrough. The panel has an arcuate slot near the edge. The free end of one of the flanges is passed through the slot to mount the anchor on the panel with the web within the slot and the loops beyond the edge of the panel to receive the belt in a fixed belt loop or an adjustable snubbing arrangement. The web has a curved inner margin to permit limited swivelling motion.
