  • Patent number: 11249741
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus include computer programs encoded on a computer-readable storage medium, including a method for providing content. Data specifying a post-install activity is received from a provider of an application. An opportunity is identified to provide third-party content to a user. A likelihood is determined that the user will perform the specified post-install activity based on one or more attributes of the user and attributes of users that have previously performed the specified post-install activity in the application. A selection value is adjusted for third-party content that identifies the application based on the determined likelihood, wherein the selection value increases as the likelihood increases. The third-party content identifying the application is selected based on the adjusted selection value. The third-party content identifying the application is distributed to a client device of the user.

  • Publication number: 20210249807
Abstract: A two-piece electrical locking system having a first male piece with a plurality of pins that protrude outwardly from a top surface of the first male piece and a second female piece with a plurality of connection channels that engage with the pins of the first male piece. The first male piece may be tightened and brought closer to the second female piece as the pins rotatably mate with the plurality of connection channels. The two-piece electrical locking system may allow for an electrical fixture to easily and effectively be connected mechanically and electrically to an overhead junction box.

  • Publication number: 20170107039
Abstract: The Smart Home Defense Chamber is a chamber designed to be installed into a wall for the purpose of storing, hiding, and securing firearms and valuables so as to provide an invisible storage chamber equipped with a means to alarm to prevent tampering, unauthorized entry and security from children and thieves. The smart home defense chamber blends into the walls they are installed into to insure invisibility. The chambers are installable in any location in a home or building providing quick and convenient access in the event of an emergency. The smart home defense chamber access panels are easily breakable and accessible from both sides which allows the user to get to, and into the smart home defense chambers much faster and easier from either of two adjoining rooms.

  • Publication number: 20140253329
Abstract: The Smart Home Defense Chamber (SHDC) is a wall chamber that is installed within a wall for the purpose of storing, hiding, securing and protecting firearms and valuables so as to provide an invisible storage chamber that can be equipped with or without a means to alarm to prevent tampering, unauthorized entry and security away from children and thieves. The wall chamber also provides the owner/user an advantageous means of access in the event of an emergency. The SHDC uniqueness is that it is designed and installed to look exactly like the wall it lives within so only the owner/user knows of its location, presence and contents. This allows the owner/user the ability to install many SHDC's in various locations around the home, office or any place they choose without having to worry about unauthorized entry or tampering from children or thieves.

  • Patent number: 8688994
Abstract: Computerized methods, systems, and computer-readable media for promoting cooperation between a first and second virtual network overlay (“overlay”) are provided. The first overlay is governed by a first authority domain and includes members assigned virtual IP addresses from a first address range. The second overlay is governed by a second authority domain, which is associated with a second federation mechanism, for negotiating on behalf of the second overlay. The second federation mechanism is capable of negotiating with, or soliciting delegation of authority from, a first federation mechanism that is associated with the first authority domain. When negotiations are successful or authority is delegated, the second federation mechanism establishes a communication link between the second overlay and the first overlay or joins a member of the second overlay to the first overlay. Joining involves allocating a guest IP address from the first address range to the member.

  • Patent number: 8255006
Abstract: An event dependent notification system and method presents a message to a user of a mobile device suggesting the user to perform an action during and/or after an event is detected. The event is detected by an accelerometer or another sensor. In some embodiments, instead of or in addition to a message being presented, the action is automatically taken. The message is able to encourage users to perform actions they do not typically perform or enroll in programs/services they are not currently utilizing, ultimately providing better and/or more secure functionality of the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 7506257
Abstract: A system and method for providing help contents uses a framework for unified help access that provides a single point of entry through which a user may access help contents relating to all system software and hardware components. The help contents from different sources are organized into a taxonomy structure that allows a user to navigate easily to locate relevant help topics. The contents of the help topics may reside locally or be accessible over the Internet, and may contain static as well as active components. The unified help framework is extensible, allowing the help topics and the taxonomy to be updated by means of update packages. The application for providing the unified presentation of help topics may be launched by a user as well as from programs.

  • Patent number: 6802025
Abstract: Methods and systems for backing up and restoring the state of a computer system are disclosed. Computer resource use is minimized by combining the backup methods of file copying and file logging. During backup, copies are stored of those files that are expected to change frequently. For other files, changes are noted in a change log and backup copies may be made if they would be useful when later restoring the files. Restoration proceeds by overwriting the frequently-changing files with stored copies and by undoing the changes to the logged files.

  • Patent number: 6687749
Abstract: The present invention manages information about support incidents on a computer. The invention gathers information about a support incident, associates the support incident with a support channel, and collects current and historical information from the computer. Implementations of the invention may also package and send the gathered and collected information to a support vendor. The invention comprises methods of performing these tasks, systems that perform them, computer-readable media that contain computer-executable instructions that when executed perform the methods or provide the systems, and data structures stored on computer-readable media having fields that represent software objects useful in performing the methods or providing the systems.
