  • Publication number: 20240115829
Abstract: There is disclosed system for oxygenating a patient in relation to anaesthesia using high flow gas delivery. The system has a flow source, and a controller for determining oxygenation requirements of the patient before or during anaesthesia. A method of oxygenating a patient in relation to anaesthesia using high flow gas delivery is also disclosed. The method determines oxygenation requirements of the patient before or during anaesthesia.

  • Publication number: 20240087010
Abstract: An automated teller machine comprises a communications module; an image module; a processor; and a memory coupled to the processor storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, configure the processor to receive a first cheque for deposit; engage the image module to capture an image of the first cheque; send, via the communications module and to a server computer system, a signal that includes the image of the first cheque for acceptance; send, via the communications module and to an automated teller machine switch, a signal that includes a request for transaction authorization approval based on the first cheque; receive, via the communications module and from the server computer system, a signal that includes an indication of acceptance of the image of the first cheque; receive, via the communications module and from the automated teller machine switch, a signal that includes an indication of approval of the request for the transaction authorization based on the first cheque; and responsive to r

  • Patent number: 8436052
Abstract: Formulations useful for preparing hydrous cerium oxide gels contain a metal salt including cerium, an organic base, and a complexing agent. Methods for preparing gels containing hydrous cerium oxide include heating a formulation to a temperature sufficient to induce gel formation, where the formulation contains a metal salt including cerium, an organic base, and a complexing agent.

  • Patent number: 6839871
Abstract: Indicia are provided to a client of Out-of-Frame errors and message bit parity errors that occur during the transmission of a message through a network, wherein the message includes the client data multiplexed with other data and formatted into a message that includes a plurality of transport overhead bytes. The transport overhead bytes of the multiplexed can include both defined bytes and undefined bytes. Predetermined bytes in the transport overhead may be used to store indicia of errors that are detected during the message transmission. These predetermined bytes are read by the client at the egress of the network. The transport overhead may contain both a section overhead portion and a line overhead portion and the predetermined bytes may be encoded in either a subset of the section or line overhead bytes. In addition, the indicia of errors may be encoded in an undefined portion of the section or line overhead.

  • Patent number: 6754208
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for spreading the component signals of a groomed input circuit through a three-stage CLOS switch network. The spreading algorithm includes sequentially evaluating each midstage switching module as to the availability of a connection between an assigned source switching module and an assigned destination switching module having sufficient spare bandwidth to accommodate one or more of the component signals. A load sharing algorithm can be used to spread the component signals among the midstage switching stages. In this way the available bandwidth of each of the midstage switching modules is evaluated for each of the component signals and each component signal is routed through the midstage switching module having the largest available bandwidth.

  • Publication number: 20020141013
Abstract: An optical node for providing transport and switch functions on an incoming optical signal with a plurality wavelengths each with a plurality of signal components in a WDM optical network. The optical node includes a first module for taking, extracting and processing the plurality of wavelengths, a second module with a plurality of input ports and a plurality of output ports which further extract the signal components from the plurality of wavelengths, and a third module for taking and processing the signal components and sending them to the plurality of output ports in the second module. A method of processing the wavelengths in one of the nodes first inputs the optical signal that extracts wavelengths from the optical signal, and further extracts signal components from the wavelengths, to allocate signal components onto the input ports. Finally the method switches the signal components from the input ports to the output ports of the optical node.
