  • Publication number: 20070079259
Abstract: Various embodiments can add predictability to user interactions with links that they encounter. In addition to adding predictability, various embodiments can enable a user to affect or change the behavior that is associated with a particular link selection. In at least some embodiments, a user is provided with discernible indicia that provide an indication of a behavior associated with selecting a particular link. In at least some embodiments, software executing as part of an end user application makes a determination that a user is about to or is likely to select a particular link. Once the application makes this determination, that application can cause the discernible indicia to be presented to the user. Such indicia provide the user with an indication of the behavior that is to be performed in the event the user selects the particular link of interest.

  • Publication number: 20060072847
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of automatically suggesting a cropped area of a digital image. An area of interest in an original image is determined. A design rule is applied to the area of interest to determine a suggested crop area of the original image. The suggested cropped area of the original image is presented to a user such that the suggested crop area may be resized, relocated, or accepted by the user. The cropped image may be presented to the user. Also, a computer-implemented method of automatically cropping a digital image. An area of interest in an original image is determined. A design rule is applied to the area of interest to determine a suggested crop area of the original image. The original image is cropped according to the suggested crop area. The cropped image is presented to a user or is stored. The design rule may be the Rule of Thirds or another, more sophisticated rule.

  • Publication number: 20050091270
Abstract: Systems and methods for digital negatives are described. In one aspect, a digital negative is created on a computing device from a digital image. The digital image is linked to the digital negative. In response to a save operation associated with the digital image, a new digital image is generated and bi-directionally connected to the digital negative. In response to a revert operation associated with the new digital image, contents of the new digital image are replaced with contents of the digital negative.

  • Publication number: 20050080807
Abstract: A tool for creating integrated collections. The tool may include a “basket” control that includes interfaces for receiving and displaying the data objects that are selected by a user to be included in a collection, and a collection creation component then provides a collection with one or more data items corresponding to the objects submitted to the basket control. The basket control may be employed by itself to make collections, or it may be hosted by another software object, such as a “listmaker” control that conveniently contains both the basket control and one or more user interfaces that a user can employ to provide data objects to the basket control. The listmaker control may thus include a viewing graphical user interface for viewing data objects and a navigation toolbar for navigating the viewing graphical user interface. The listmaker control may then be hosted as desired in a variety of software applications.
