  • Publication number: 20070233273
Abstract: A tissue expander implant (10) arranged to be anchored in position within a cavity formed in the body for the controlled expansion of overlying tissue. The tissue expander implant (10) comprises a first expandable envelope (18) defining a first closed chamber (18a), first inflation means for enabling the controlled inflation of the first expandable envelope with a biocompatible fluid, a second expandable envelope (20) located in side-by-side relationship with the first expandable envelope and defining a second closed chamber (20A) and second inflation means for enabling the controlled inflation of the second expandable envelope with a biocompatible fluid. The first and second expandable envelopes have a textured external surface for promoting adhesion to overlying tissue.

  • Patent number: 7049932
Abstract: In a system for remotely controlling the supply of electric power to customer premises, each customer premises is fitted with a power-switching arrangement coupled to a paging receiver (5-1, 5-2, 5-3). A utility company supplying the electric power can input requests to a server (1), optionally via a terminal (2) or a network link (3). A software application running on the server generates a control instruction in response to a request and sends it to a paging service (4) for transmission over a paging network. When a paging message is received at one of said customer-premises paging receivers, if the control instruction is appropriately addressed the power-switching arrangement will put it into effect, for example to connect or reconnect the customer premises power supply.

  • Patent number: 6292075
Abstract: A two pole contactor, particularly for a domestic electricity meter, comprising a solenoid with a plunger actuator and a movable contact for each pole mounted on a pivotal blade in a symmetrical opposed configuration. The plunger is connected to the blades by a leaf spring whose ends engage sliders connected to the blades to impart a similar and even movement to each blade.

  • Patent number: 6079144
Abstract: An illuminator for a fishing lure utilizes a non-conductive tube in which a pair of electrical contacts are disposed in one end in spaced apart relation and in which a rod having a tapered end is slidably retained. When the tube is horizontally disposed or when the tube is vertically disposed with the contacts in the superior position, the rod does not make contact with both contacts; however, when the tube tends toward the vertical position with the contacts in the lower position, the rod tapered end engages both contacts simultaneously. A small light emitting diode and small battery complete the circuit such that the diode acts as an illuminator while the tapered end is engaged with the contacts.

  • Patent number: 5694099
Abstract: A switching device (220) comprises a solenoid actuator (224) and an inlet terminal (224) attached to a first bus-bar (246). Mounted on the bus-bar is a flexible switch blade (236) operable by the actuator and having a movable contact (240) at its free end. An outlet terminal (254) is connected by a second bus-bar (250) to a fixed contact (242) of the contact pair, the arrangement being such that in use an electrodynamic force is produced at least between the blade (236) and the first bus-bar (246) which tends to maintain the contacts (240, 242) in engagement.
